Wedding blogger

It's been almost 6 years that I immerse myself almost daily in writing articles. An unmissable meeting with the web that has brought me enormous joy and very beautiful encounters. Along the way, my readership has grown and, like my fellow bloggers, I have naturally found my place in the small world of Marriage. The icing on the cake is that this adventure has led me to a professional project and an association with another blogger that I esteem for her talents and her beautiful energy. A profession in which I flourish a little more each day...

And none of this would have been possible without the thousands of hours spent here, laughing, crying, exchanging and sharing. A little assessment is in order. I wanted to take the time to reveal a little more about my daily life in a few points…

About me

Some will find that I blur the lines: wedding-planner-blogger-decorator-personal-shopper-co-organizer-of-love-etc, I admit it can sometimes be confusing! I sometimes come close to bun-out and aspire to 48-hour days. And yet, I don't see my daily life any other way (even if I would sometimes like to turn into Mary Poppins!).

Madame C's blog is me, Clémentine Marchal. With my flaws, my sensitivity, my obsessions, my joys and my sorrows. It remains a blog and therefore resolutely personal. I don't cheat, I don't aspire to be someone else and I don't judge anyone. And even if I refuse certain proposals from professionals, I never question the quality of their work.

What I am not

• “I love your photographs! Could you send me your rates for a service in July?” ➳ I am not a photographer
• "I work for a TV show and I am looking for people who are allergic to gold jewelry" ➳ uh uh uh!
• “Dear Barefoot Bride, I am absolutely a fan of your blog and your reports.”  ➳ !!!

I won't hide it, some messages leave me perplexed...

Self-centeredness?

Certainly. The recognition, and the lovely compliments that come with it, give me crazy energy and an ever-increasing desire to share new inspirations with you. If I received scathing comments all the time, I would have certainly thrown in the towel a long time ago. Blogger but not a masochist!

Since I was little, I have had this need to write. Some like to run, cook or read. Personally, I love to write and take you with me in beautiful stories. And I find it so magical and precious to be able to share happy and intimate moments of life here. A few years ago, it would have been unthinkable for newlyweds to broadcast their wedding report. I am very grateful to all these lovers who give us their time and trust.

What I publish

Each report is the subject of a crush, an encounter or an inspiration that touches me. Beyond the beautiful photographs, there are beautiful stories. I like beautiful atmospheres and details. But I never forget that a wedding is above all the unique and sincere sharing of an exceptional day.

What I don't publish

I learned to say no because I know today that it is the guarantee of a demanding editorial line. Without hurting, without coming across as a diva. The exercise is sometimes delicate. Over time, we become more experienced and our tastes evolve. So we have to make choices…

I do not accept 

• link exchanges,
• undeclared professionals
• reports with several photographers with very different styles
• reports that have already been the subject of several publications on other French blogs

In the same way that I don't see the point of publishing the same article on 15 different blogs. There are few Wedding blogs in France so we might as well vary the pleasures and it will be all the more impactful for the artist or creator. I prefer to wait (not without a little frustration) and treat the subject from another angle later. Or not at all...

And please, without falling into dubious flattery, make your requests with elegance and tact: "I proposed my report to such and such a blogger but it does not correspond to her publication criteria, perhaps I will have more luck with you?" Without having an oversized ego, it's never pleasant to learn that you're a second choice. It doesn't put you in the mood, so you might as well avoid the subject :)

Time spent on the blog

Between 3 to 5 hours per day. Early in the morning and late in the evening so as not to encroach on the working time devoted to Made in You and our bride and groom. Not to mention the weekends off when I try to answer the emails of the week.

Unfortunately, I sometimes lack time and I am not as responsive as I would like to be... A publication on my blog is thought of day by day, according to the mood and the desire. I can't function otherwise. And to be published, you have to wait on average between 1 to 3 months. More, depending on my news related to KIDS etc, Manager of Myself and Sunday Grenadine.

What I gain from it

Humans fascinate me and in my job as in my private life, sharing is my driving force. Meeting, listening, advising and transmitting are all verbs that I conjugate on a daily basis. I am a real marshmallow and I assume it. Because my personal history taught me that life is short and fragile, I do not want to lose a single crumb of it. And at the risk of appearing naive on duty, I prefer to be me than to turn into a grumpy and bitter troll.

For a long time, blogging was a hobby. A few years ago, I recognized that it had become a valuable professional tool. So I professionalized it by allowing wedding service providers to use it in their communication strategy. The blog offers paid partnership with offers tailored to the wedding world.

Why this article?

I thought it would be interesting to share with you the behind the scenes. Providers or future brides and grooms, this blog exists thanks to you. And even if I have a tendency to confide my feelings to you, it is you who set the tone for Madame C's blog. A joyful alchemy that I never tire of!
