Coronavirus or the art of reinventing your wedding. Second week of confinement and the impression that time is suspended. In the midst of this ultra-anxiety-provoking climate for everyone, questions galore. All the more so in the organization of a wedding which is prohibited until further notice. You have been extremely numerous to read and relay last week's article, which offered an overview of the situation. I am keen to continue my action in this direction in order to reassure you and offer you some keys to move forward.
Today, I give the floor to wedding professionals eager to share their comforting tips. They are all keen to support you as best they can to face this unprecedented situation. Which makes me even more proud to belong to this wonderful wedding family.
Between sharing and kindness, wedding professionals give us their advice...
Postpone your wedding until fall
Getting married in the fall in “Endless Summer” mode is the alternative mainly proposed by wedding professionals. The days will certainly be shorter but it is an opportunity to enjoy a mild climate and the beautiful golden light of autumn. In Provence, we enjoy an Indian summer until the end of October. The nights are cooler but the days are often very sunny and surprisingly warm.
Marianne Labadie owner of the Villa Taj Marrakech testifies: " Here in Morocco, as long as the airport remains closed, we are offering future brides and grooms a postponement to 2020 where the dates for the Villa Taj Marrakech are available. The wedding remains the same, but the evenings will be cooler. The dinner reception venue will therefore be heated while maintaining the same view of the swimming pool thanks to a system of sliding glass doors. Unfortunately, it is difficult to propose to everyone a postponement to 2021, the 2021 season is already booked We can't disrupt the 2021 bride and groom's schedule, who signed a long time ago. We move forward, we manage and we stick together. »
Jeanne Boulart of Nabie says yes gives us her valuable wedding planner advice: "working a new color palette in warm and ochre tones (to be in tune with the nature that surrounds us), play fully on candles and warm lighting (the days are shorter, it's the opportunity to bet on that), why not program instead a lunch than a dinner (daytime parties are often so successful…), imagine big dishes to share to boost the conviviality factor to its maximum and therefore allow yourself comforting dishes suited to the season (a nice blanquette for example? Competitive sausages and purees?...)"
“As for flowers, the end of the season allows us to work with magnificent varieties, warmer tones, but without preventing the more powdery tones so loved in summer.” explain to us Mélanie Charmillon, florist in Lyon at Wild Mint.
Virginie Hamon, wedding photographer in Ile-de-France, gives us his tips: “A fall wedding means a milder climate. Makeup doesn't budge, no one feels unwell in reception rooms that are too small. You have more choice on the availability of service providers. You can safely organize a lantern release, without risk of fire. You don't swell in your brand new shoes and your guests can't tell you "I can't come, May and June are complicated at work, and then it's the summer holidays and your wedding is right when we leave!"
Et Nathalie Bruneteau, professional photographer in Hauts de France at Brune Photographie, remember : " For us, photographers it is easier to work with an autumn light, much softer than a full sun in summer. Your memories will be even more beautiful"

Postpone your wedding during the week
An option that often scares couples because of the availability of their guests. So yes, some polite guests will decline the invitation, but in the end wouldn't it be a blessing in disguise? A wedding during the week is ultimately an opportunity to organize a more intimate event and very often ultra warm, because each person who is there has a special importance for the bride and groom.
In addition, getting married during the week offers more possibilities with a benefit on the prices charged and on the availability of the professionals hired. This will save you a potential ultra-headache Tetris of finding a date on a weekend when luckily all your providers will be available. We are already noticing big traffic jams on all the weekends of this second half of 2020.
How about a winter wedding?
I have this little extreme side of believing that if there is a change of plan, it might as well be radical. And I admit that winter atmospheres have the gift of making me dream. An ultra cozy, slightly magical atmosphere that will definitely intensify the ultra conviviality of your wedding.
Rebecca Roure, home chef at by RBK, gives us some delicious ideas: "For my winter buffets, I like to offer a Soup Bar. Several veloutés with an assortment of toppings to choose from: croutons, different grated cheeses, bacon or chorizo chips, seeds and spices to sprinkle... and we can also imagine a Hot Chocolate Bar with in the same spirit: Chantilly cream, Chamallow, Cinnamon or Speculoos powder, different flavors like at Starbuck Coffee!"
Anne Ucla, professional photographer in Annecy, explain : " Here , Winter weddings are the possibility of having snow, of having a cosier wedding, of thinking about it differently (earlier in the day...). Of offering more "wintry" things at the meal, of having softer images because of the light... »
Cécile Schuhmann, professional photographer in Normandy, adds: “ The winter season is the opportunity to organize a secular ceremony indoors, to drink mulled wine, and to eat crepes, raclette or bourguignon en cocotte… The most complicated point is of course the night that falls very early. I often propose a Day After session to not overload the day and to find more clement weather. »

The Final Word
“Do you want to extend the preparations until 2021?” This is the simple question that Estelle Monnot from MC2 Mon Amour to all its customers. "And they all answer: no. Marriage is often a step towards other projects So pushing it back to 2021 means pushing back their other life projects even further.”
Stephanie Fayolle, wedding planner at WEP in Provence, observes: " The season doesn't matter in the end. The important thing for our future bride and groom is that their families and friends can all be reunited in good health. The main thing is that the party is beautiful and that it takes place."
Yes, it is a total upheaval. We are living in a surreal situation. What do we have to remember from all this? Just the essentials. The planet reminds us how precious life is and love is all that matters in this world where everything goes too fast. Let us just take the time to put things into perspective and appreciate the mere prospect of being reunited again. To celebrate even more strongly this love that binds you and opens the great book of life. I have no idea when we will have the chance to regain this freedom that we took for granted. My only certainty is that our joy will be immense. That we will have to laugh even harder, dance until we are exhausted and love each other until we are out of breath. In the end, isn't that what matters?
A huge thank you to the wonderful team of professionals who took the time to give you their valuable advice.
