There is something indefinable about the light of Provence—a soft, almost magical glow that transforms every moment into a living tableau. It is in this setting of century-old olive trees, stone country houses, and lavender fields that Stephanie Fayolle, founder of WEP in Provence, has been orchestrating exceptional weddings for over a decade for an international clientele in search of the French art of living.

Much more than a wedding planner, Stéphanie is a storyteller of emotions. She captures the essence of each couple, often from the other side of the world, to offer them a rare experience: a wedding where luxury is measured by the sincerity of a smile, the beauty of a meal shared under the stars, the precision of a suspended moment.

For her, Provence is not just a setting — it is a promise. That of a discreet luxury, imbued with authenticity, where every detail is carefully thought out, where every moment exudes the gentleness of the South and the timeless elegance of France.

In this exclusive interview, Madame C invites you to dive into the refined and deeply human universe of WEP in Provence, where getting married becomes much more than an event: a true life experience.

Luxury Destination Wedding in Provence

Interview with Stéphanie Fayolle

Can you tell us about WEP in Provence and the philosophy that guides your agency?

At Wep in Provence, and after many years of experience, I am fortunate to be able to select my clients based on their personality. It is essential for me that my support perfectly matches who they are, so that we can work hand in hand, with the utmost trust and kindness.

This approach allows me to capture the essence of the couple, even from a distance, and to create a wedding that truly reflects them, respecting their history, their desires and their unique world.

Why did you choose Provence as the preferred setting for your weddings?

La Provence is: as I like to say, "my playground", It is the land of my childhood, the land of stone and olive trees, of smells that never leave me.

It also means living five minutes from Chateau Martinay without ever being able to cross its thresholds, perhaps already dreaming of all that I could create there one day, 15 years ago… Provence offered me a vision: that of a region where everything is to be invented, to be sublimated, to be revealed. Its light, its materials, its landscapes.

Once I understood this, I just had to put these treasures on display for my clients, to help them discover my Provence, that of refinement, authenticity and emotion.

“There are no small details.”
His leitmotif

How is the collaboration with your future bride and groom going?

PFor me, every WEP in Provence experience begins with an authentic encounter. It's essential that my clients are like me and that we are in harmony, because it's this connection that makes it possible to turn their dreams into reality.

I like to reveal "my Provence", to add that little "grain of madness" or that unique touch that will make all the difference. I don't consider myself a specialist in large, spectacular decorations, but as a specialist in people, capable of deeply understanding my couples and creating experiences that truly resemble them.

Simply put, I work with couples who match my personality and the spirit of my agency, making each wedding intimate, elegant, and deeply personalized.

Your clientele is international.
Who are these couples who choose Provence to celebrate their love?

Most of our couples see Provence as "the center of the world," or at least as an exceptional place where anything seems possible. They come from the United States, England, or Eastern Europe. SOften cosmopolitan couples, having studied or lived abroad, choose France as a meeting point for their families and friends; for them, Provence represents a form of...timeless elegancea balance between refinement, authenticity and the art of living.

Compared to other destinations like Italy, France retains an image of discreet and controlled luxury, a signature “in the French style” that our couples seek and deeply appreciate.

In terms of budget, our exceptional weddings generally start around 150 000 eurosand can reach three to four million euros for the most ambitious events (projects that are obviously rarer)  but always driven by the same demand for excellence and emotion.

I'd also like to make a brief digression about the word "luxury." For many of my couples, the true luxuryIt is not about excess or demonstration: It's about peace, time, and simplicity shared with their loved ones..

Luxury, for them, is being able to live this moment to the fullest, surrounded by the people they love, without constraints or artifice, and that suits me.

I find that this word is sometimes misused; it is important to remember that One person's luxury is not the same as another's..

In my weddings, luxury is primarily expressed by attention, emotion et accuracy, everything that makes for a truly exceptional experience.

You attach great importance to ethics and sustainability.
How does this translate in practice?

Our couples and their guests often come from the other side of the world, so these aren't always the most "eco-friendly" weddings in the strictest sense. But since CovidI noticed a genuine awakening Couples are more attentive to their impact and want to give meaning to each choice.

For our part, we make it a point of honor to employ as many people as possible. Provençal service providersEven for the most prestigious weddings. It's not always easy (the language barrier can still be a challenge), but things are changing. The new generation of service providers is demonstrating a real sensitivity to comfort, ethics, and respect for the environment, and that fills me with great joy for the future of our profession.

Can you describe the typical process for us?
of a wedding signed WEP in Provence?

My vendors and brides and grooms have gotten into the habit of calling me “Maman Steph,” “Mama Madonna,” or sometimes even “Queen Mama.” I never really know how to take it (hihi), but I think these nicknames pretty much capture the spirit of a WEP in Provence wedding.

For my couples, I am much more than a wedding planner I often become a a benevolent presence, a point of reference, an ally all along the way.

I pay immense attention to my brides and grooms and their families, but also to my service providers, because they work hard and deserve to be accompanied, supported and valued.

My role is to create a bubble of trust and serenity, where everyone feels in their place, and where everything can/must unfold smoothly and smoothly.

How do you define “luxury” in the wedding world today?

The perfect definition of luxury, for me, is a good Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a colorful plate of cheeses and pretty vegetables, and a bride in a Jacquemus dress, surrounded by love and kindness. I think I'm stepping a little outside the usual "luxury" codes (hihi), but that's exactly what I like: a simple, sincere and deeply human luxury.

How do you see the evolution of destination weddings in France?

France is magnificent, and Provence is sumptuous. How fortunate for those who work in other regions to be able to reveal it as we have had the privilege of doing for so many years here. I believe that Provence still needs to be developed and enhanced, and my only wish is that all those who come to work here can do so with respect for its habitat and the know-how that is unique to us.

Finally, what message would you like to send?
to couples who dream of getting married in Provence?

Trust us, let yourself go, enjoy, chill out, have fun... and for the rest, we'll take care of everything!
