Her name is Jules, his name is Jools. And while the spelling of their names is different, the English pronunciation sounds identical.
From their meeting to a wedding, they have woven the beautiful story. This summer they will get married in Provence (Best place ever to get married), in my eyes the most beautiful place in the world to celebrate their vows. In the meantime, they wanted to have a natural engagement session in an intimate London.
With the beautiful images of Neupap Photography, they tell us more…
The initial meeting
“We first met at a friend’s wedding. We were sitting next to each other at dinner and joking about having the same name. It turned out we had a lot more in common and grew up in the same neighborhood. Our first date was six months later, when we were both single again!”

The marriage proposal
Jools: I wanted to propose on the 1st anniversary of our 'first date' so we went away for a weekend in the countryside to Hay-on-Wye in Wales. I tried to keep it cool and not get too stressed with the 'perfect' proposal in mind. So even though it was windy and cold we went for a walk up a big hill with a champagne picnic. Luckily for me we found a sheltered spot in the sun at the top - secluded and with a lovely view over the valley. I popped open the champagne and proposed there!
Jules: I was so surprised! I thought we were just going to have a champagne picnic for our anniversary. It was so beautiful and romantic – we both cried!
Jools: She kept asking, “ are you kidding me?? "It took a while to convince her that I wasn't joking!
Preparing for this session
“We loved Didier’s style as soon as we saw his work. We are getting married in Provence but live in London. We spoke to Didier via Skype and he mentioned that he could come to London, so we decided to have our engagement session there. It’s nice to be able to have a completely different setting for the engagement photos and the wedding photos.”
The engagement session in London
“The session was very informal and relaxed. We met Didier in East London and explored the area for a few hours. It took us a while to stop being awkward, but Didier was great fun and helped us relax.”
Wedding inspirations
“We want to make the most of our wedding in Provence and its region. From the beginning, we focused on good food and good wine in a garden.”
Their wedding in a few words…
“Happy – Relaxed – Delicious – emotional – memorable”
Clémentine: a big Thank you Jules & Jools and all the best for your marriage!
