Léa and Nicolas live in Asia and will soon get married in France. When the decision to hire a photographer comes, they have a crush on the work of Yoann PallierTaking advantage of a family trip to Thailand, he suggests that they capture some sweet moments in this land of elsewhere.
With the beautiful images of Yoann Pallier, Léa and Nicolas tell us…
Yoann Pallier, the photographer
“Engaged for 4 months, we are preparing our wedding from a distance since we live in Asia.
We have been looking for a little while now for a photographer who can capture the most beautiful moments of our day. I scour the websites looking for this famous photographer and I come across Yoann Pallier's website. The first impressions when browsing his site were “Wow”. I discussed it with Nico and we decided to send him an email, the first exchanges were very simple and quickly, we were talking about a meeting via Skype.
It's 20 p.m. here, 14 p.m. in France, when we meet behind our computers.
We explain our wedding plan to Yoann: 2 religions, therefore 2 ceremonies, this seems to suit him and please him.
The feeling is very good and we appreciate Yoann's honesty as well as his vision of the role of the photographer in a wedding. For us, the photographer is one of the pillars of the wedding... Overwhelmed, we knew that he was the one we wanted by our side for the Big Day.«

Engagement session in Thailand
"Before closing our respective computers, Yoann informs us that he is leaving, with his family, on vacation in Thailand in March. They will be in Krabi for 4 days and suggests that we meet there for an engagement session. With, of course, the agreement of his family. We set a date for a response and we say goodbye.
Nico and I go online to look up the distance between Singapore and Krabi, as well as some photos of this paradise island. Barely 1 hour 20 minutes from home by plane, the question does not arise…
After the positive response from the Pallier family, our tickets purchased, the hotel booked, and the bag pack closed, we take off for Krabi on the 1ster Mars.

Living in a tropical climate, we are used to high temperatures but we still look at the weather: you should know that in Thailand, the dry season is from November to March and that from April to mid-May, there is generally high heat reaching 40°C. The little advice I want to give if you go during this period is not to forget your sunscreen but also to drink lots and lots of water and remember to take (or buy there directly) Aloe Vera to moisturize your skin after the shower!
So we arrive in Krabi at 10am, after a quick game of billiards while waiting for our room, we enjoy a Pad Thai with shrimp without further delay... Then, supporters of "I discover by getting lost" we decide to rent a scooter (less than 10E the day) and go on an adventure.
We arrived at the Tiger Cave Temple, a sacred place because it displays a magnificent golden Buddha on top of the mountain. You have to climb 1260 steps (as high as a calf) to admire a splendid view… We did it and were lucky enough to admire the sunset…
After a little green curry in a restaurant opposite the hotel, we go to bed early because the meeting with Yoann and his family takes place the next morning.
The next day, in the company of the Pallier family, we decided to rent a Long Tail for the day, different types of tour but we mutually chose to book the 4 Island tour, and here we are, all 5 of us on our Long Tail!
We start by going around Chicken Island, a rock in the shape of a chicken. Then we stop on 3 other islands: Poda Island, Tup Island and Phra nang beach. The luck we have is that on each stop we make on the Islands, they are almost deserted, we are the only tourists...

The engagement session begins on the boat. Not being used to being photographed, we are a little embarrassed, but with Yoann's professionalism this embarrassment quickly ends up disappearing. The setting is idyllic, everything is calm, we are at the end of the world, all alone, on paradise islands... I sometimes felt like I was dreaming!
At the end of the day and after leaving our Long Tail at the port, we leave to do a last shooting at the swimming pool and on the rooftop of our hotel: Aonang Cliffe Beach Resort.
After that, we have a blue raspberry cocktail to toast, in the pool, to this magnificent encounter and 1er shooting together!
Finally, the five of us have dinner in a small local restaurant, facing the sea, our feet in the sand, enjoying a last seafood BBQ, and we each go our separate ways.
For us, it will be a last little drink in a local bar, marine atmosphere with a small concert of international music, very very nice! Quite common in Krabi, small groups of musicians in the bars. We go to bed after this little drink, because, believe it or not, a day like this is very tiring (especially under 38°c!).

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we went for a walk on the main street. There are many craft shops and souvenir shops where you can find good deals. We spent a little time in an art shop, where the artist sells his paintings, what an artist! We fell for two magnificent paintings, which perfectly adorn the walls of our apartment. After this purchase, we take a bus to the small airport in Krabi to return home.
We had a fabulous day with the Pallier family, whom we really wanted to thank! Thanks to Yoann who took a day of his vacation to work with us and thanks to the girls for agreeing to let us spend a day with them!
After our meeting with Yoann and his family, the best memory of this trip was the magical landscapes that the Krabi region offered us.
