ETHNIC – εθνικός
CONTENTS
On a desire for elsewhere, Peggy d'In one turn 2 hands and Lou of Pondicheri Weddings have imagined together a wedding inspiration with ethnic notes. Faithful to their eco-responsible values, they brought together a team of professionals based in this creative project Ile-de-France. And it is in the Fontainebleau forest that the magic has worked.
With the beautiful pictures Bee By Ingrid et The Wild Strawberry , the duo gives us their inspirations…
How did the initiative for this shooting come about?
"The idea was born from the wish of Peggy, founder of the agency In one turn 2 hands, to develop a decoration box system adapted to future brides and grooms who do not have the budget to call on a wedding designer. She wanted to do a photo shoot that would highlight the “ETHNIC” box, which she plans to launch soon.
But the adventure went well beyond the box. Lou, founder of the agency Pondicheri Weddings, has completely embraced the theme. A theme that she would not necessarily have gone towards, if she had had to develop an editorial alone.
Our discussions, our meetings, the sharing of our experiences, our future projects, and our complementary skills have nourished our reflections and helped our initial project evolve.
We have intertwined the philosophies of our two agencies in order to highlight small weddings/civil partnerships, alternative and eco-responsible.
And, to this were added our two quite different graphic universes: elegant and poetic for one (Peggy), audacious and non-conformist for the other (Lou).

The Memorial
"We have chosen the forest of Fontainebleau because we wanted a natural decor composed of rocks, of forest and sandy expanses. We could have gone elsewhere but for environmental reasons, it was essential that we stay close to our agencies, which are located in Île-de-France.
The Fontainebleau Forest is beautiful. It had everything we were looking for. It is a place that lends itself very well to intimate events that are off the beaten track.

The shooting team
“We have brought together service providers who share our values: creativity, beauty, humanity, eco-responsibility and Made in France.
Here are the reasons why we have collaborated with the following providers:
- The models
Jessie and Ted, a real couple of lovers who plan to get married in 2024 (the request has already been made). Their complicity, their spontaneity and their somewhat casual temperament would give intensity to the whole editorial.
Based in Paris.
- Makeup and hair: @amarylis_greenbeauty
Sandrine is the embodiment of sweetness! She listens, gives good advice and is deeply rooted in an eco-responsible approach. All her products are organic and she minimizes her waste by returning all her empty containers to the cosmetics brand she has chosen. She is full of resources and adapts to all situations: a beauty treatment in the middle of a forest without electricity for example!
Based in the Paris region.
- Top & skirt: @house.takarah
Nisrine, a designer who brings a breath of modernity to the world of bridal outfits. Both the skirt and the top can be worn with another piece for another occasion.
Based in Paris.
- Costume: @piecer
Camille, a designer who makes sure that the modern becomes timeless and the timeless remains modern. The audacity of print all over The Pablo suit, made of cotton canvas, immediately won us over. These two strong pieces can be worn independently, for another occasion as well.
Based in Paris.
- Alliances: @paulette_a_bicyclette
Fairmined jewelry par excellence!
- Solférine “SARITA” ring – orange sapphire – red gold
- “HÉLIA” wedding ring – champagne pink gold
It was obvious to work with Atelier de Paulette à Bicyclette.
Based in Paris.
- Graphic artist : @audrey_allonsyalonso
Her love of character paper and her nonconformism immediately seduced us. The paper used for the stationery is artisanal. The envelopes were made with upcycled paper (made from food waste).
Based in the Alps.

- Ceramists : *Christian Chang @christianchangstudio et Emmanuelle PICARD – Terre D'Alva
- Stoneware candlesticks and cups, homemade enamel for the cups
- Plates: variations of red stoneware with chamotte and covered with a homemade recipe enamel.
A duo of ceramicists chosen for their love of “raw” and respect for the material! Quite simply… The majority of the objects were created for the shooting, in true collaboration.
Based in Paris
- Decorative elements : @mameez_
Because Chloé collects objects, works with local partners and engraves words of love by hand, and with her heart!
Based in Toulouse.
- Crockery Rental: @vintage dishes
To remain consistent with our values, it was obvious to turn to Vaisselle Vintage which prolongs or gives new life to old objects.
Based in Paris.
- Fabric printing @psiloveyou.fr
Here, we have a sense of detail! Caroline loves materials and we entrusted her with our linens and cottons to bring the graphic designer's creations to life.
Based in Marseille.
- Guest gifts : @le_grenier_de_pauline
Pauline's lovely guest gifts were a no-brainer! A fan of homemade products, organic oils, Camargue salt with Basque flavors (Producers)...
- Construction structure and arch: @al3x.production
With Alex “ Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.” and yet there is still creation in the end. He is a craftsman who makes custom-made products using as much recycled material as possible.
Based in the Paris region.
- Florist: @atelier_lesherbeshautes
Hélène, Élise and Pauline, queens of graphic and poetic floral compositions. They source seasonal flowers from local producers. For the editorial, they chose to work with dried flowers in order to highlight their sustainable nature.
Based in Paris and Nantes
- Caterer: @kouklabar
We needed a caterer who would invite you to travel. Our models are the managers of the bar/restaurant Le Koukla, which specializes in Greek cocktails and mezze. And recently, they have been offering a catering service for private and corporate events. So why look any further?!
Based in Paris.
- Photographer : @bee_byingrid_photography
Ingrid, a photographer with intense shots. Her colorimetry perfectly matched our expectations in terms of rendering. She works on feeling and we knew that it would resonate with our models.
Based in the Paris region.
- Videographers: @thewildstrawberry.picture
Marisa and Ghislain, a couple of hyper-creative and completely non-conformist videographers.
For them, the video highlights other facets of the moment experienced. Their sensitivity and audacity allow them to go where others would not dare. In general, the codes are more than shaken up. Intensity guaranteed!
Based in the Paris region.

The scenography
"We started from the word ethnic which we have associated with the nomadic character.
The idea was to propose an outdoor scenographyNatural elements such as rocks, pine trees and sand had to fully participate in the different sets put in place.
Through the general scenography it was necessary to feel thespontaneity, lightness, movement and impermanence.
We took everything together by defining the color ranges, materials and fabrics. Each set-up was then imagined. We rethought certain poles in order to propose things different from what is usually done (a jar as an urn, the metal ceremonial arch with the wishes flying in the wind, a dinner almost on the ground, etc.). All the elements to be included on the set-ups were listed. Nothing was left to chance at the last minute.
Peggy was in charge of finding and talking to the service providers who worked on the decoration. And Lou took care of the other service providers, namely those who would collaborate on the models' looks and those who would immortalize this editorial.
In our discussions with the other service providers, everyone was free to take ownership of the project and make suggestions. The goal was for everyone's thoughts to further inform the project, and for everyone to be able to showcase their work.
Everyone has left their mark and this contributes greatly to the identity of this beautiful editorial. «

Professional advice for future brides and grooms
We strongly advise future brides and grooms who are short on time and/or who wish to prepare their wedding with complete peace of mind to use the services of a wedding planner. Your wedding planner will save you time by selecting the service providers that suit you while taking into account your budget. He/she will advise you and guide you until your big day. If your wedding planner takes care of coordinating your event, you can be sure to enjoy your loved ones and fully experience this day which promises to be intense.
If you want to organize your wedding yourself, take the time to choose your service providers carefully. Service providers who listen, with whom communication is fluid, who understand your project and whom you trust. In the wedding industry, "feeling" is essential. Of course, the content of the service is important, but the human relationship is just as important. This is generally felt in the course of the big day.
In order to celebrate your union while being mindful of your impact on the environment, think about the geographical location of your reception venue, think local, seasonal and organic ideally. Favor rental and recycling rather than purchases. Opt for sustainable and ban disposable. And get it out of your head that an eco-responsible wedding costs more than another wedding. It's just another way of designing this beautiful day and choosing the team that will surround you.
For the decoration, start by establishing a colorimetry and/or a theme. Define the atmosphere you want to find, space by space. Put yourself in your guests' shoes to think about comfort and details. Make a list of all the elements you will need to create the atmospheres and try to find them for rent. Hunt for bargains, recover, divert objects to your image. Favor local, seasonal, dried or stabilized flowers to reduce your impact and encourage your guests to leave loaded.
