From their meeting on Tinder was born the perfect match. They love skateboarding, street art and rock n'roll. From a slightly crazy idea of flying to California was born that of a marriage. A project that does not leave them even when their plans change.
With images of Matterhorn Photography, Joana the future bride tells us…
The initial meeting
We met on Tinder. Personally, I was there to stroll around, to “have fun”. I saw his profile, I found him cute even though we were 5 years apart, I told myself that it was just to chat anyway... It still matched, and I think we talked for two or three weeks on Tinder and Facebook Messenger.
I was quite spicy with him, it made me laugh, we both had a good laugh. We finally went out for a drink in January 2015 and have been inseparable ever since.

The marriage proposal
We were planning to go to California, unfortunately, to live there you have to have family. Jerome's parents live there, but that's not enough for us both to be able to move, we had to get married.
We started talking about marriage and then had a change in plans that turned out to suit us much better: opening our cafe/bar here in France. We still kept the plan to get married because clearly it wasn't just the practical aspect that made us decide to embark on the adventure.
Jérôme wanted to propose in Japan under the cherry blossoms. Life is sometimes full of surprises, he decided to propose to me during a punk rock concert of a band I've loved since I was a teenager and that I hadn't seen in concert for 15 years.
On a song that brings back memories of his teenage years, Jérome begins:
“– Do you want to have fun with me for the rest of our lives?”
- DOWNRIGHT !!! ROCK AND ROLL BABY! »

The inspirations of the shooting
Skate, street, concrete.
We love skateboarding, everything related to street art, we love exploring unusual places that aren't too out of the ordinary, that's absolutely what we wanted. Finding ourselves in a wheat field doing romantic poses was absolutely not us.
Not very comfortable in front of a lens, luckily we were together! We ended up having a good laugh, we are very happy with the photos and the look that Elise from Matterhorn Photography brought to this photoshoot. She put us at ease right away, even if we were tense as mussels…

Wedding inspirations
Rock and roll of course! We didn't want something that resembles us, just to please. The inspirations are very refined, but very rock and roll. It's our day, it has to resemble us down to the flowers.
What I will remember from this year of preparations
That there are 5 months left and it goes by much too quickly…. I feel like there's still so much to do and I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself. I don't want to forget anything and especially for it to be done quickly... I even have nightmares about it... It's going too far...

Your advice for future brides and grooms
- Do as YOU want; asking for advice is essential... We all need it... However, as soon as you feel that you are spreading yourself too thin, or that it doesn't suit you, get back on track, it's YOUR day.
- Be yourself… Your loved ones know and love you as you are.
