Wedding in Antibes – Laurine + Maxime
CONTENTS
Laurine and Maxime dreamed of a wedding "just like at home" under the sun of the Côte d'Azur. A reception under the stars in front of a country house that smells of the south of France. It is in Antibes that they realized this lovely wish. A day bathed in light sprinkled with a hint of elegance and an extra dose of love.
With the beautiful images of Saya Photography de Ohlala Studio, they tell us more…
“Maxime asked for my hand on September 3, 2016 during a weekend in Megève, at my place.
I have been going to Megève since I was little, and he knows how much I care about this place because I feel particularly good there.
So we decided to go away for a weekend together to extend the summer holidays a little and in fact he had planned everything and wanted to propose at that time! It was obviously an emotional moment! We spent a magical weekend, cut off from the world and on our little cloud.
Wedding in Antibes, the Bastide du Roy
Above all, we wanted to create a simple, warm, friendly and family atmosphere. We are very attached to our families and friends and we wanted to convey a "home from home" atmosphere. So we naturally chose to get married at the Bastide du Roy, in Antibes, which corresponded exactly to the atmosphere we wanted to convey: an old private property with a soul and a history. The advantage was also that we could organize our entire wedding outdoors: from the cocktail to the evening, if the weather allowed us... Which fortunately was the case and reinforced the magic of this place.
Our guests really appreciated being able to enjoy a 100% outdoor wedding.

Wedding planning
“We were lucky to be surrounded during our preparations, especially by our mothers and sisters who invested a lot, each in their own way, in the organization of our wedding.
Maxime's mother has a decoration rental company for events and was able to give us a lot of guidance thanks to her expertise, including on all the logistics "decoration of tables, dishes, furniture" and on the choice of our caterer (who we received many compliments from our guests).
Maxime's sister and Laurine's mother, who have a real gift for organization, helped us organize our meetings with our service providers throughout the year and gave us a lot of guidance and advice in our different choices. And it must be said that they were very often right and we thank them for that!
As for Laurine's sister, her little sister's marriage proposal was a real revelation for her, who has always had a creative gift that she rarely used in her personal life. Organizing her sister's wedding then allowed her to set up, alongside her job, her little company (mostly by word of mouth) "DouzeMai" which allows you to organize tailor-made events, entirely or partially. She then helped us enormously with the whole "creative" part of our wedding: the choice and design of the invitations, thank you cards, menus, mass booklets... But she also helped us a lot with the general atmosphere of the wedding by giving us a lot of advice on the choice of decorations (of the Church, the tables, the pool party...). Throughout this year, people have continued to encourage her, because she has really revealed herself and has worked miracles that many have been able to recognize and appreciate.
After this wedding, the feedback on her work was so good that she landed several missions to organize weddings or 30th birthdays for our friends.
Without her and her attention to detail, demands and creativity, our wedding would not have had as much charm. We owe her a lot for all her beautiful energy and investment in our side."

Wedding decoration
“We were lucky to choose a location that allowed us to organize the cocktail party in two different gardens, with two different atmospheres.
A first garden, with French flowers and a pond in the middle, which did not require much decoration, because it was magnificent in itself, and a second, more “atypical” round garden which reminded us of an “Alice in Wonderland” atmosphere, where we installed a few pouffes and crates for a “relaxed” atmosphere.
For dinner, we wanted to put more emphasis on warm, subdued lighting and so opted for a “guinguette” decoration with fairy lights and numerous tealight holders on each table surrounded by eucalyptus and sprigs of gypsophila.
It was all simple but elegant: the Bastide lit by six spotlights and the garlands above the tables were the essential elements of this warm and “home-like” atmosphere.

The wedding budget in Antibes
"For my guests, I wish to keep our wedding budget confidential, however to give you an idea ofa wedding on the French Riviera for around 200 people and over two days: expect a budget of 50 to 000 euros over two days"
Their best memory
Laurine's most moving moment was when she entered the Church, in her father's arms, her gaze fixed on Maxime who was waiting for her at the foot of the altar.
When it comes to marriage, many brides imagine this moment; some make a mountain of anxiety out of it, others a great excitement. For her part, it was a hell of a mix of feelings, but to be honest something she dreaded greatly.
Then finally on the day, she has rarely been as serene and peaceful as that day: she knew exactly why she was there and how intensely she had to live this moment.
And if she had to remember just one moment, she would remember the one when, as she entered the Church, she met Maxime's gaze for the first time, moved, waiting for her. This moment is indescribable, in fact...

Advice from the newlyweds
“Live each moment intensely, without thinking about the one that must follow:
- Experience your preparations alongside your witnesses in joy and good humor (plan a good anti-stress playlist and a little time before leaving for the Church, to chat and take photos with your witnesses)
- The religious ceremony
- The cocktail
- The photo shoot romantic
- Dinner
- The evening
And try to spend the most time with each guest who are so caring and warm that day at your side."
