Wedding at Bassin d’Arcachon – Claire + Jordi

Against all odds, they celebrated their wedding at Arcachon. From this year 2020, and despite a necessary postponement, they will keep precious memories.

Claire and Jordi imagined a natural wedding, respectful of the beautiful environment in which they organized the festivities. A simple and poetic decoration, an intimate reception and details that make sense. Nestled in the bay of Arcachon, Villa La Tosca offers a perfect setting for a wedding full of poetry and elegance.

The initial meeting

"Our meeting is that of two high school students, one asking the other " do you want to go out with me? ". "

The marriage proposal

"And then ten years later, it's a surprise. The desire to get married had remained secret for both of them.  It was Jordi who first had the idea to talk to me about it and to take me there a few days in Venice for the Architecture Biennale. It was on this occasion that he proposed to me, at night, wandering the streets of Venice, flooded as they are every year by what the Italians call "Aqua alta".

Boots and ring in hand, it remains a memorable memory. « 

Wedding in Arcachon

“Our family and we are originally from Arcachon bay, and therefore wanted our wedding to take place near the beach, or with a view of the basin so dear to us.

We chose Villa la Tosca, firstly because it is an exceptional place that met our expectations, but also because it allowed us to stay there for several days and to accommodate our loved ones with whom we were able to share good times before and after our wedding day. We also wanted to find ourselves in a house to share this moment with our family and friends.

Wedding planning

"If we put aside all the difficulties we encountered following the postponement of our wedding, we really enjoyed organizing it. We chose all our service providers by browsing blogs, accounts Instagram, the festivals… who are real sources of inspiration!

For our wedding day, we did not organize a reception or make any distinction between the guests present at the Town Hall, at the Secular Ceremony or at the brunch which took place the next day.  We invited everyone to share these different moments.”

Wedding decoration

"For the decoration, we wanted at all costs to avoid the useless and the disposable, by favoring a natural decoration (wooden furniture, fabric tent, vintage crockery, etc.). We were able to count on our service providers Be lounge (furniture) and Charlotte House (caterer) to give us good ideas."

The wedding budget 

"We were able to count on our family without whom nothing would have been possible. Thanks to them we were able to organize the wedding we dreamed of.

The most important thing is to define what your priorities and interests are, among all the things to plan for your wedding. What mattered most to us was to create an atmosphere that was natural, friendly and original. So we focused our spending on the venue, decoration and flowers.

Their best memory

"If we had to remember just one moment, we both think of the sunset. Spontaneously, with all our guests, we found ourselves on the beach in front of this short but intense moment where everyone measured the importance of this day, appreciated the beauty of the place and the incredible feat of being together with family and friends after so much uncertainty about whether our wedding would go ahead or be postponed.
