Wedding in Cassis at Domaine de Canaille – Catie + Jay

We got engaged in May 2020. We started planning the wedding a year later, and after an unforgettable trip to France in 2019, we couldn't wait to return. After talking with our loved ones, we realized we weren't the only ones longing for travel after the lockdown, so we decided to consider a destination wedding.
Marelles Weddings was one of the first wedding planners we contacted. We explained to them what we were looking for. Originally from the South of France, they recommended a multitude of beautiful venues. Cassis wasn't our preferred destination, but Margaux and Marie gave us a wealth of information about the town, and it perfectly met our expectations. From there, the vision became clear, and we were able to collaborate on the flowers, music, and caterers. These are all details that made our wedding so memorable for us and our guests.

We wanted to combine timeless romance with maximum joie de vivre. To achieve this, we opted for a simple and natural ceremony setting, with a quartet performing our favorite songs by composer Piero Piccioni. We wanted an intimate and personal ceremony, so one of our closest friends officiated, and we exchanged handwritten vows.

We opted for bright colors and wilder, more whimsical floral arrangements, which made the whole thing even more fantastic. Our stationery also perfectly reflected this mix and allowed attendees to set a dress code: wear color and have fun. Music was also very important to us. In addition to the ceremony quartet, we had an incredible band during the cocktail hour and dinner, as well as a DJ who perfectly mixed all our favorite dance songs for the party.
