To the tune of a musical comedy – Faustine + Samson
CONTENTS
Joyful, festive and sparkling as you want, the wedding of Faustine and Samson seems to come straight out of a musical comedy. A romantic interlude that takes us on a poetic dance. Unreal with happiness and good humor, they celebrated their big YES in Paris and then in Brittany.
Faustine tells us their beautiful story and the details of their wonderful days...
The initial meeting
"Samson and I met at parties organized by a friend we had in common seven years ago. I was 17 and he was 26. We shared laughter, dancing, grignonaises and alcohol without ever seeing each other outside of these circumstances.
It took six years before we fell into each other's arms. A drunken night, a kiss, a bed...
The next day, Samson falls on his scooter under the tunnel of the Porte d'Italie and loses his memory. He receives a text message from a certain Faustine who explains to him that the memories of last night are no longer very clear to her and that she would like them to discuss them together. In short, our first night had fallen into oblivion on his side as on mine.
Touched by his accident (I was myself convalescing after a fall from a height of 4 meters), I went to see him the next day, with the aim of succeeding with our two brains to retrace the course of this fiery evening, and more if we got on.
Thus began our story: two cripples trying to regain their memories.

The marriage proposal
"Everything happened very quickly: after 3 months I returned to Paris and we lived together, on the fourth he proposed to me, on our terrace overlooking all of Paris. I barely knew his parents and had never seen his brother, he had come to dine with my family twice.
But it was obvious. I accepted."

A wedding at home
"What's better than get married at home ? We are lucky to have in our respective families very beautiful places large enough to accommodate our entire assembly (around 150 people).
As we got married at the town hall of the 2st arrondissement in Paris, we decided to have an afternoon cocktail at my parents' house in Essonne. It's an old building with a magnificent garden. Then, we did it again the following weekend and this time over three days in the XNUMXha Breton garden owned by the groom's parents, on which we pitched a real old-fashioned circus tent, made of magnificent cotton canvas! Our pagan ceremony took place there.

Wedding preparations
“Organization? A wonderful moment, where everything is possible and a wonderful tool to know yourself better! We feel like we are changing the world every time we find a new idea that we like, it’s fantastic!”
We had four days to organize in total, divided into two weekends. Two spaces, two atmospheres, two ceremonies, and two heads full of dreams. And 8 months of preparation in advance.
We talked a lot about what we wanted (a festival of friends, with shows and participatory activities, refined meals, a certain class of circumstance, a lot of relaxation and human warmth, unexpected encounters ...), and what was to be avoided (dinner that drags on with humiliating entertainment, "wedding" DJ, ...). Then we took care of the most important: Caterer, DJ, Photo, costumes, MARQUEE (a real one)
Well of course, there are also moments of stress and uncertainty, like when we were let down for the third time by our DJ 3 weeks before the wedding. But fortunately, Samson is always a very optimistic and down-to-earth man! He helped me a lot to put the progress of our organization into perspective. Because it's true that a wedding is a bottomless pit! The more time you have, the more things you have to do! But with him it's: you have an idea, then you implement it right away and it works!
After the schedule, the decorum… well that’s not our thing. But our friends already knew, so…”

Do it yourself
- The announcements: entirely created on InDesign, then cut out by hand (and believe me, there was a lot of cutting!)
- A garland with all the reply coupons we received to thank those who thought of it.
- The programs for each day, printed but never displayed...
- The candy and macaron wedding cake, the smoothie workshop (DIY or have your friends do it ahah)
- The floor of the tent, the terrace around the house, the gravel on the parking lot, the shale stairs, the painting of the room and the entrance, the tables for the caterer, ... Does all that count?
- Otherwise no! A lot of recycling in the parents' Ali Baba's cave and mass purchases at Hema and Paris Store.
- DIY is great but we preferred to put our energy elsewhere… Too long, not enough time. And then the places are already so beautiful as they are!

And if I had to do it again…
“We wouldn’t change a thing!”
Advice from the newlyweds
- Do all that you want without restriction, without fear of ridicule. Do things the way you dream them and it will be even better than you could hope for.
- Don't be wise. It's your wedding, treat yourself ! AND also Choosing a service provider at the last minute (for me it was the hairdresser and she was really bad! Luckily I had my friends to make up for it.
Wedding Suppliers

Printer: Magenta Color – 55 boulevard de Magenta – 75010 Paris
Places : eheh they are exclusively reserved for us since they belong to our parents but I recommend it to you: everyone comes out very tired but it is a wonderful experience to get married at home (well I have never tried otherwise...)
Caterers: I highly recommend them! We chose them carefully, and each one has its own specificities. Taste qualities and professionalism for the cocktail of our Guyot caterers based in Soisy-sur-Seine (91) who were a hit with our guests (don't trust the site which doesn't make you want to eat it. Call them and come and taste, you'll be won over!) – SV.GUYOT.TRAITEUR – 3 Rue anatole france – 91450 SOISY SUR SEINE – Tel: 01.60.77.28.34 – Ability to listen and react, with a big bonus for innovation: L'Auberge de Plouguenast (Côtes d'Armor), followed us for five months. They responded to all our requests, were a great help in the organization and were able to create a completely tailor-made meal based on the idea we had. Carole Lefeuvre SA _ The Inn “for gourmands and gourmets” – 26 rue Besnard Lanoe – 22150 Plouguenast – 02.96.28.77.31 – Exoticism and initiation. Thanks to Mrs. Elmir and her cabinet of flavors, we made our 80 guests eat delicious tagines on Friday evening. And everyone ate with their hands! Don't hesitate to order pastries and salads from her, even in small quantities! Everything is divine in her shop! Pastilla Tempura – 48 avenue Loucheur – 22000 St Brieuc – tel/ 0296773033
Bride's outfit : Noémie was very attentive to my desires and was a very creative force of proposal. She suggested the tone: golden (festive, original while remaining classy, spectacular) and a first sketch. I spoke to her about material, concept, shape (jewel dress, short but not provocative, circus, especially no meringue dresses!!!) and suggested a drawing. We worked on this basis to arrive at the final model. She was very patient and gave very good advice. The Noémie Perret Workshop – 98 Bis, avenue Linné – 91600 Savigny sur Orge – noemieperret@hotmail.fr
Groom's attire: So Sansom has a suit in his name! Several shops in Paris and even a home service. Very professional, very beautiful! Samson

Jewelry, wedding rings: A young designer full of imagination from whom we ordered our wedding rings: careful work and beautiful originality. I love it! She has just finished her jewelry training and does not yet have a website but you will find an overview of her work on her site: Virginie Fantino
Photographer : We can never tell her enough: Sandrine did a fantastic job for our wedding. Far from the traditional photos with the famous session that lasts for hours and that no one enjoys, her photos breathe naturalness and "lived"! Looking at them, we find the sound of the fanfare and the freshness of the ray of sunshine that came to brighten up the day. Our guests had a lot of fun at the photobooth she offered. Discreet and soothing, she puts us at ease where others freeze us. The composition work and the processing are superb! Magnificent photos, timeless, to frame and keep preciously ... or to offer! Sandrine Bonnin photographer – For Brittany, it is a friend of Samson to whom we have entrusted this heavy task! Originally a photo reporter, he agreed to give us this gift. His plus: Instax, a sort of modern Polaroid! Adrian Branco
Videographer: Anahi and Alfredo, with their permanent smile and their sweetness, sailed all day on the 23rd among our guests to bring us back a mini report of the festivities! A very interesting field work because natural! We quickly forget that they have a camera in their hand and we give ourselves to them without concession. Alfredo is also a photographer (of weddings among others ;) ): Anahi Ubal Retamozo + Alfredo Brandt
Marquee rental: Manou is a magician, a jack of all trades and a thousand solutions! He was an indescribable help to us in all the technical aspects of our wedding: electricity, lighting, sound, flooring, etc. All at an unbeatable price, with quality to boot! And a marquee…. Aaaah, this marquee!! Cirque Noom – 1, allée du Clos Carré – 35310 Mordelles
Group: Remember their name, it shouldn't be long before they become known! They have a hell of a pep and music that will make your legs and ears quiver! The Stoned Popes
Fanfare: A cheerful band of braggarts that appeals to all generations and whose services you can hire for any occasion. A colorful group, full of energy and humor! What a bunch of mustachioed people! The Meteor Band - lesmeteors@gmail.com
DJ: After many setbacks to choose one that played us really good music, and three refusals, we finally decided that the best way to have the music we liked was for our friends to take care of it: we contacted our guests who were the most expert in party music to ask them to prepare three quarters of an hour of playlist. Everyone had their own schedule, their own type of music, etc. In the end, we were so late on our schedule (the dance party started at 3 or 4 am instead of starting at midnight!!) that not everyone could come, but they did great! The guests danced until 09 am!
