A wedding in Marrakech – Fatim and Guillaume
CONTENTS
From Paris to Rio de Janeiro, these two have drawn a beautiful story. Eight years later, they invite us to Marrakech for a wedding full of sweetness. True to their discreet image, they give us the story of this wedding from elsewhere that smells of olive trees and sunshine.
With the beautiful images of Matthew Bondon, they tell us…
The initial meeting
"We met in Paris through a friend. A few weeks later, Fatim left to finish her studies in Rio De Janeiro. At the end of her trip and after a misadventure in Bolivia that deserves to be told in a book, we spent 2 consecutive nights chatting and remaking the world through keyboards. When she returned to France, we saw each other again and never left each other again. This has been going on for 8 years."

The marriage proposal
“I proposed during our family vacation in Morocco in the small town of Taroudant – nicknamed “Little Marrakech” – at the end of a beautiful sunny day. And she said “YES”!
We wanted to celebrate our union in a heavenly place, close to nature and in the sun and not too far from Paris to facilitate travel for our loved ones. Marrakech immediately stood out as the ideal place to spend an unforgettable moment with family and friends.

Preparations
“We used a local wedding planner Maev to help us plan our wedding. This is essential when you want to have a wedding abroad, especially when schedules don't allow you to travel there regularly. The steps we followed are:
- 1 year ago: choice of wedding planner and creation of the moodboard to choose the decoration, the general atmosphere
- 9 months to 6 months before: trip to Marrakech to meet our wedding planner, choose the venue and select the different service providers
- D-7: arrived on site to finalize the preparations, the stress level was at its maximum!
With of course regular telephone exchanges for follow-up.”

D-day
“A day full of emotions: making sure we’ve thought of everything down to the last little “details”. But at some point, we disconnect to let ourselves be carried away by the wave of happiness and love.”
Your best memory
« The ceremony under the olive trees and the wonderful speeches from our families and friends.”
What if I had to do it again?
"We would do the same thing again, exactly the same! Despite the mistakes in choosing certain service providers, we have extraordinary stories to tell our future children!"

Advice from the newlyweds
- The most important advice we can give – even if it sounds corny – is to have a wedding in your image. Your choices should be guided by your instinct. Every wedding is different!
- The other advice would be to choosing your photographer carefully, we called on Matthew Bondon who were able to immortalize this magical day, we are very lucky to have such pretty photos.

Catering
The small disappointment of the wedding: a local caterer whose name we will not mention out of courtesy and whom we absolutely do not recommend due to his lack of reliability and honesty. This caused us a lot of stress the week before the big day.
Flowers
We used very few flowers for the wedding, the lush vegetation and in particular the sublime olive trees of the villa were enough to create a heavenly setting.

An excellent local caterer: Corto. He was able to replace the caterer who failed us 48 hours before the big day at short notice. Delicious dishes, served by the pool with a smile.
