The initial meeting

We met through a mutual friend at a dinner party. We were both 30 years old. I learned that he had lived on a houseboat for several years when he was younger, and I was actually looking to buy one at the time. After dinner, I contacted him on Facebook to get his perspective on houseboat life. From that moment on, we corresponded daily while he was back in Mexico on business.

He suggested I come and join him for a short vacation and after several days of thinking about it I went. It was both exciting and scary!

The marriage proposal

After a few months, he proposed, but it was still too soon for me… The following year, we had a little boy, and then less than two years later, a little girl. Happiness with its share of difficulties, which weakened us and then made us stronger.

Amédée proposed for the second time on my birthday. He had planned a weekend in Corsica, which he ended up canceling because of the rain, and also because, you see, we just can't bear to leave our children! (laughs) We're addicted! But it was wonderful; I blew out my candles with my sweetheart, wearing a beautiful ring, and then blew out my candles again with our children the next day. A marvelous weekend.

A wedding in a family home in Provence

We chose to get married on my mother-in-law's family estate, between Aix and Marseille. You should know that my mother-in-law has almost all her brothers and sisters there with their descendants. A very large family with lots of cousins ​​our age and that of our children. This place is incredible for that. It seemed obvious and natural to us to do it there. For my part, I don't know any cousins ​​and for hers it's the ultra cousinade! It's extraordinary and precious.

Wedding planning in Provence

We hired a wedding planner, Stéphanie Fayolle from WEP in Provence, Thanks to the excellent advice of my dear maid of honor and childhood friend Clémentine! And we don't regret it!

She helped us visualize the steps, set deadlines, and easily make decisions on many points; she definitely prevented conflicts! And she directed us to excellent service providers. We were able to do things more calmly, and the stress was kept under control, especially on the big day!

Wedding decoration in Provence

Our wedding planner introduced us to Céline, a florist for Provence Workshopwho created a beautiful decoration for us with flowers in shades of yellow and white in antique vases, and for the church, olive branches and ivy, symbols of eternity and fidelity. It was simple and beautiful.

Their best memory

Our children came to the altar to retrieve our wedding rings, which the priest blessed in their little hands, and which they then brought to us. So adorable, so powerful. Our union took on a meaning far greater than just the two of us! It was the four of us. Our family.

Advice from the newlyweds

• Un wedding planner who has good contacts for service providers it's worth it and for the big day it's considerably relaxing! It allowed us to really enjoy it.
• And a short dress I think it's more in line with our times and easier! I was able to dance, move around with ease, and keep my dress looking perfect all night long!
