Wedding at the Château de Fajac La Relenque – Camille + Romain
CONTENTS
In the Toulouse countryside, Camille and Romain fell in love with the Fajac castle and its pink bricks. The ideal setting to celebrate their obviousness. A wedding full of poetry punctuated by their smiles, a beautiful sun and a bohemian atmosphere as desired.
With the beautiful images of Madeleine Photographer, Camille tells us…
The initial meeting
"We met at work. We were colleagues then friends before letting our feelings evolve. Naturally and after a year of friendship, we realized that we were an obvious match. And it was confirmed :)"

The marriage proposal
“It was in April 2018 on the beautiful Coralina Island during our trip to Colombia. He let the hotel in on the secret and during dinner, they had set us a sublime table on a pontoon away from prying eyes, with lots of candles and lanterns. It was worthy of a movie scene!
At the end of the dinner he launched into a magnificent declaration of love, told me things he had never dared to tell me and got down on one knee. Honestly, I was so surprised and moved, I burst into tears before saying a big YES! Then, we spent the evening on Pinterest imagining our wedding… One of the most beautiful evenings of my life!

Wedding at the Château de Fajac
"We really fell in love with the location of our wedding. We wanted something simple, warm, authentic but with a touch of modernity! It was the first place we visited and we booked the date within the hour!
We were charmed from the first moment: the castle and its bricks typical of the region, the decoration, the 360-degree view, everything was there. The fact of being able to accommodate our family and friends also contributed a lot to this choice because we really wanted to spend a whole weekend close to our loved ones.

Wedding planning
“We wanted to organize everything ourselves. It’s not easy, it requires a lot of time, rigor and organization, but we loved doing it. We spent hours on Pinterest, Instagram and wedding blogs to get inspiration and bought and created accordingly.
It was important for us to be able to manage the smallest details of this day and we were incredibly supported by our witnesses and families.
We started the organization very early and quickly chose the service providers that seemed most important to us. Then we did it little by little. It's important to know how to take breaks in the organization, especially if you decide to manage everything yourself. It helps avoid moments of tension!

Wedding decoration
“She was the image of what we wanted: Bohemian, simple, warm and vegetalWe had focused a lot on floral decoration, Camille the florist supported us in this and introduced us to some wonderful flowers.
We rented decoration from Pauline's Attic which offers superb accessories and we have thought about and decorated according to our tastes and our favorite inspirations.
The castle was already so simple that we didn't want too many frills and just wanted to make it even more beautiful!”

The wedding budget
"A slightly over budget but we had stopped counting a few months before the wedding. It was important to be able to treat ourselves and we knew that the last details would not be the most expensive.
The biggest part of the budget, as for many, was invested in the caterer, the venue and the most important service providers: Photographer, DJ…Without any regrets!”

Their best memory
“As many newlyweds will say, it’s hard to pick just one as this day is full of them but if we really had to pick one it would be the secular ceremony.
We are not particularly religious and wanted an authentic ceremony, which speaks of our history. The secular ceremony, magnificently carried by Anne Sophie, was celebrated outdoors, with a magnificent view of the wheat fields. Everything was absolutely perfect, the decoration, the musical atmosphere, the speeches of our loved ones, our vows...
It was THE moment we were waiting for the most and we were not disappointed!”

Advice from the newlyweds
- Communicate, know how to tell each other when we don't agree on details, decoration, service providers so that neither of you are frustrated. It's a moment to experience as a couple ☺
- Delegate! It's THE key word but it's so important. You have to know how to let go, trust your witnesses, service providers and all the caring people who surround you on this day
- Surround yourself with service providers who are like you. It is essential to feel confident and therefore take the time during the year of preparation to choose the right people who will accompany you for your D-day. We took the time and were surrounded by the best!
- Enjoy every moment, from the preparations between witnesses to the dance steps at 6am (even when fatigue starts to set in!). Time flies by but memories remain forever when moments are savored.
- And one of the best pieces of advice I was given by a young bride: Stay together on the big day, enjoy the people, the discussions, the moments together. To be able to remember, years later, a day together.
