Civil Marriage in Paris 12th
In the Paris of their past, present and future lives, the evidence of organizing their Civil Marriage has imposed itself. Before flying to Marrakech, Sophie and Julien want to say yes in all simplicity in their city. Surrounded by their closest friends, they exchanged their vows at the Town hall of the 12th arrondissement and met in the wake of Bois de Vincennes.
Un civil wedding with modern and elegant notes, like the newlyweds.
With the beautiful images of Laura Saulle, the bride tells us…
The initial meeting
" We are Friday, January 22, 2016. It is approximately between 4:5 and XNUMX:XNUMX in the morning, Palladium bus, a legendary place in Parisian nights where we each have our habits, that our eyes meet surprisingly for the first time. He is 30 and I am 23, he asks me for a light, I think he doesn't even smoke, we laugh a lot. The party continues until the end of the night ... More than 6 years later, he still doesn't smoke but we still laugh as much!

The marriage proposal
"Julien doesn't do things like the others, not because he's trying to stand out, but because he has it deep inside him... It's like something innate. So the request had to be just as atypical as the rest...
Every summer, we go to Thonon les Bains, Julien has a house on Lake Geneva. On the morning of Thursday, August 19 (between our two birthdays: Julien was born on the 18th and I was born on the 20th), he insists on going fishing on his boat, which between us is taking on a little water…
The surprise was total, firstly because it was no later than 10 o'clock in the morning but also because the ring was indeed attached to the hook..."

Civil Marriage in Paris 12th
"It was immediately obvious to us that we would get married in a civil ceremony in Paris. On the one hand, because we met here and then because we built our life together here.
I have always lived between the 3rd and the 10thth and Julien lived at 12th when we met. Just a little nod to 2016… »

Wedding planning
"We first focused on the religious wedding, probably the most complicated part because we had imagined it in Marrakech for a long time. And then very quickly, we looked at the civil one. We were uncompromising on two things: The first, that the wedding be cool, simple, chic and above all very festive (on this last point, we were surrounded by a good team, we were not worried) and the second that it is a Friday July 22 (which limited us a little) !
After finding a perfect location with a large terrace and right in the middle of the Bois de Vincennes, we tackled the outfits: no bun and no tie, we both agreed on that too.
We also, after long hours of searching, found Laura, our great photographer. We were looking for someone who would quickly understand us and who could put us at ease quickly.
So now we had all the elements to make this day a perfect moment! The big day arrived, we both got ready simply… a few drinks with our witnesses and off we went for the party to begin…!

Wedding decoration
"We really wanted to make a chic, sober and above all white decoration : White tablecloths and dishes, white hydrangeas in vases, white stationery… No bohemian theme, or color theme… We are both quite classic I think. ☺ »
The wedding budget
For the overall budget of the civil marriage, approximately 10 euros.

Their most moving memory
"For my part, I would say that there were two beautiful moments: the first was my husband's slightly stressed look and smile when saying yes and my in-laws' words at the town hall which also touched me a lot."
Their best choice in wedding planning
"I think our best choice was to want to make our wedding our way, in our image… ”
Advice from the newlyweds
“Try to let go a few weeks before, a few days before, to make the most of this incredible day. Easier said than done, especially for the stressed out ones like us ☺
