Couture wedding in Provence – Maxine + Owen
CONTENTS
Maxine and Owen live in New York. When they start in 2020 theorganization of their wedding, they dream of reuniting their loved ones in Provence. Thanks to the unwavering support of their wedding planner Stéphanie Fayolle from WEP in Provence, they got their wish.
The magic of these 3 days in France embraced their families and guests on a unique journey. A Provencal market as a welcome dinner, a secular ceremony full of emotion in the shade of the tall pine trees and this last dance which ends in a final collective embrace. Love is stronger than anything.
With the beautiful images ofElicia Bryan,Elise Morgan and Pierre&Julie Films, Maxine tells us…
Their meeting with Stéphanie Fayolle
“We first contacted Stephanie in January 2020. We were living in New York. After a few video calls, we planned a trip to visit places in Provence. It was in March 2020 – just before the pandemic. This, of course, was cancelled – so we didn't get to meet Stephanie until we were able to return to France in November 2020.
At that point, we had given up on the idea of a wedding in France because so many of our guests were from the United States, it seemed impossible. But Stephanie helped us stay positive and excited about the best version of the wedding we dreamed of: a wedding in Provence. We decided we were willing to wait for him and rescheduled our date – in the hope that people will be able to travel abroad by then. And luckily for us, it worked!!
A year and a half later, our wedding in Provence was celebrated in May 2022.”

Their wishes for the wedding
“My husband and I just different cultures. I have French and Filipino heritage. Owen has Lithuanian and African-American heritage. It was important to us that all four cultures were represented and celebrated, and that our community – who would come from all over the world – have the opportunity to connect and get to know each other.
We also wanted to share how Provence is special to us, because it's a part of the world that we both really love. And of course, we wanted to have fun!”

The reception venue
“Stephanie, our wedding planner, submitted to us the Vaucros Tower Castle. Since Owen and I couldn't be there physically for the viewing, due to the pandemic, my mom went with Stephanie and did a video tour of the entire place for us. We booked it based on our trust in both of their recommendations! The PERFECT choice.
Not only was it natural beautiful, elegant, spacious and practical to organize a fairly large wedding, but it also allowed us to do staying 50 of our closest friends on the property. Which made the entire wedding weekend feel like a summer camp vacation. The venue manager, Marion, could not have been more helpful, kind and accommodating.
We feel so lucky to have gotten married there.”

Wedding planning
“We worked a lot with Stéphanie and the team of WEP IN PROVENCE via Zoom and Google Docs to stay organized! And we came once in the summer of 2021 to discover the place and do all the tastings. »
Wedding decoration
"We wanted every detail to embody Provence so that our guests would feel embraced by this atmosphere that we cherish so much. Very sensitive to floral decoration, Owen shared his wishes with our floral designer Laetitia C. Workshop flowers. We also wanted the dance floor to be very festive, so we hung lighted umbrellas from the ceiling.”

Choosing the wedding dress
" For Friday dress, my cousin Dani Osmena is a designer who lovingly handcrafted (!) a custom two-piece dress. It was a modern take on traditional Filipino formal wear.
To Saturday dress, I went to a shop in Atlanta called The Sentimentalist – they had a really well curated little selection, which was great because I found the dress buying process quite overwhelming. The ladies there were extremely helpful.”

Their most moving memory
" All ceremony was very moving – about 15 people from different times in our lives read a variety of short readings in 3 different languages.
Our Last Dance was also very emotional. Our friends, who were still on the dance floor at 4am, formed a circle around Owen and me as we shared our last dance. I cried the whole song. At the end, they all came over and wrapped us in a huge group hug. It was amazing."

Their best choice in wedding planning
"Choosing Stéphanie Fayolle from WEP IN PROVENCE as a wedding planner! Not only did she go above and beyond to execute every detail, but her positive attitude also kept the process as stress-free as possible.”
Advice from the newlyweds
« Your wedding will go by SO FAST. Enjoy every second of this of those precious hours. Don't waste time with " what should be done " but do what you please. These memories will be eternal, have no regrets"
