Couture wedding in Provence

Three days in Provence, a lifetime of memories

Some weddings transcend mere celebrations, becoming a true destination in themselves. They are moments where not just two families are brought together, but cultures, histories, and memories are forged.

When Maxine and Owen, living in New York, imagine their wedding, one thing quickly becomes clear: it's in Provence that they wish to write this new chapter of their story. Despite the uncertainty of the pandemic, they choose to wait rather than give up. Guided by Stéphanie Fayolle and her team of WEP in ProvenceIn the end, they will offer their loved ones much more than a wedding: a journey to the heart of the Provençal way of life.

For three days, a castle becomes a family home. A Provençal market opens the festivities, the tall pine trees shelter a ceremony where three languages and four cultural heritages intertwine, while long tables, flowers, illuminated parasols, and bursts of laughter create the setting for an unforgettable weekend. Until that final dance, at dawn, where the newlyweds are embraced by all their loved ones.

Under sensitive gazes byElicia Bryan,Elise Morgan et of Pierre&Julie Films, , discover a couture wedding where Provence becomes much more than a backdrop: it is the guiding thread of a deeply human, generous and universal celebration.

Their meeting with Stéphanie Fayolle

We first contacted Stéphanie in January 2020We were living in New York. After a few video calls, we had planned a trip to visit places in Provence. That was in March 2020 – just before the pandemic. This, of course, was canceled – so we weren't able to meet Stéphanie until we were able to return to France in November 2020.

At that point, we had given up on the idea of a wedding in France because so many of our guests were from the United States, it seemed impossible. But Stephanie helped us stay positive and excited about the best version of the wedding we dreamed of: a wedding in ProvenceWe decided we were prepared to wait and postponed our date – hoping that people would be able to travel abroad by then. And luckily for us, it worked!

A year and a half later, our Provençal wedding was celebrated in May 2022.

Their wishes for the wedding

My husband and I have just... different culturesI have French and Filipino roots. Owen has Lithuanian and African-American roots. It was important to us that all four cultures be represented and celebrated, and that our community – which would come from all over the world – had the opportunity to connect and get to know each other.

We also wanted to share how Provence is special to usBecause it's a part of the world we both really love. And of course, we wanted to have fun!

Château la Tour Vaucros in Provence

Stephanie, our wedding planner, submitted to us the Vaucros Tower Castle. Since Owen and I couldn't be there physically for the viewing, due to the pandemic, my mom went with Stephanie and did a video tour of the entire place for us. We booked it based on our trust in both of their recommendations! The PERFECT choice.

Not only was it natural beautiful, elegant, spacious and practical to organize a fairly large wedding, but it also allowed us to do staying 50 of our closest friends on the property. Which made the entire wedding weekend feel like a summer camp vacation. The venue manager, Marion, could not have been more helpful, kind and accommodating.

We feel so lucky to have gotten married there.

Wedding planning in Provence

We worked extensively with Stéphanie and the team at WEP IN PROVENCE via Zoom and Google Docs to stay organized! And we came once in the summer of 2021 to discover the place and do all the tastings.

Wedding decoration in Provence

We wanted every detail to embody Provence so that our guests would feel embraced by this atmosphere we cherish so much. With a keen eye for floral design, Owen shared his wishes with our floral designer. Laetitia C. Workshop flowersWe also wanted the dance floor to be very festive, so we hung illuminated parasols from the ceiling.

Choosing the wedding dress

For Friday dress, my cousin Dani Osmena is a designer who lovingly handcrafted (!) a custom two-piece dress. It was a modern take on traditional Filipino formal wear.
For Saturday dress, I went to a shop in Atlanta called The Sentimentalist They had a small but really well-organized selection, which was great because I found the dress-buying process quite overwhelming. The ladies there were extremely helpful.

Their most moving memory

All  ceremony It was very moving – about 15 people from different stages of our lives read a variety of short readings in 3 different languages.

Our Last Dance It was also very moving. Our friends, who were still on the dance floor at 4 a.m., formed a circle around Owen and me as we shared our last dance. I cried throughout the entire song. At the end, they all came and wrapped us in a huge group hug. It was extraordinary.

Their best choice in wedding planning

Choose Stéphanie Fayolle from WEP IN PROVENCE as a wedding planner! Not only did she go above and beyond executing every detail, but her positive attitude also kept the process as stress-free as possible.

Advice from the newlyweds

Your wedding will go by SO FAST. Enjoy every second of this of these precious hours. Don't waste time with "what should be done" but do what you please. These memories will be eternal, have no regrets.
