Small Winter Wedding – Anne-Claire + Nicolas
CONTENTS
With simplicity and authenticity, Anne Claire and Nicolas celebrated their union in the privacy of their family. Long in love and happy parents of two adorable toddlers, this marriage resonates like a sweet evidence.
With the beautiful images of Baptiste Hauville, Anne-Claire gives us the immense pleasure of sharing the story of this wonderful day.
The initial meeting
"We have known each other for over 15 years through mutual acquaintances, a story that we keep to ourselves, a beautiful story that ends well like in the tales with our 2 love birds :)"
The marriage proposal
"I'm the one who did it more than two years ago, I wanted to surprise him and then we wanted a second child quickly so we preferred to wait until Scarlett was here... Time to get back in shape and agree on how, where and with whom ;) We concluded that we wanted to share this as a family only and in a small group, the watchword SIMPLICITY.
The party will be more informal at our place this summer with friends.”

Small Winter Wedding
"We wanted to get married at the town hall of Chambon-sur-Lignon, a small village that is very dear to me where we have a family home. And for the restaurant, it turns out that Régis & Jacques Marcon in St Bonnet-le-Froid is 20 minutes away so we tried and we succeeded!
A table that is just perfect for welcoming us as a family, a small group that we had tried twice and were always delighted.
Normally there is no wedding possible, but we got married just before the annual closing. They did us a favor and privatized the place. This involved time constraints and having the meal outside the weekend.

Wedding preparations
"Little preparation, that was our greatest wish. That it remains just a pleasure, I knew that I was the one who would have to manage everything. And getting married when you have 2 young children, a job is less easy to organize, the same for the big day;)
Choosing a restaurant rather than a wedding hall was therefore one of the criteria to simplify the task. Above all, we wanted something simple at all levels: organization, atmosphere and location.

The wedding team
"We organized this in 3 months, from the moment we decided we wanted everything to go quickly. We chose the Christmas holidays which simplified the logistics for our family who only comes back from abroad once a year at this time. So it was perfect for everyone to be there and then we had in mind to follow up with the honeymoon in January.
As for the organization, everything was decided when I thought about it, without pressure or even a little relaxed/last minute.
- For the outfit, I wanted a dress Laure of Sagazan, because I have always loved them and because it perfectly matched the winter and simple theme that we wanted to give. I didn't want anything too much, long sleeves so as not to be too undressed given the season and quite appropriate for a family lunch. I hesitated between 2 and this one matched all my criteria, not to mention that I also chose what showed me off. They were able to be responsive for a semi-custom dress!
- I was lucky to be well advised for the photographer, a month before the big day. I have more photos than we thought so no regrets about having taken a professional photographer, quite the contrary. If I am sensitive to photography this was not necessarily the case for my husband and then it remains a big budget. Recommended by Clémentine, the favorite for the world of Baptiste Hauville made up my mind right away, it totally matched the image of a winter wedding I had in mind.
- For the flowers, I went to the florist I usually go to in Lyon who had prepared crowns, bridal bouquets and centerpieces for me. No DIY, just fairly precise ideas of what I wanted in a winter spirit. I must say that she understood my expectations perfectly.
I found some jars at the Villeurbanne canal flea market and then used things that I already had at home. The advantage of having a small wedding is that I didn't need a lot of things and I could therefore transport them easily.
I tried a new hairdresser without doing a hair trial before D-Day and I had decided to do my own makeup. With a civil ceremony at 11:30 and couple photos just before, the idea was to keep it simple. Especially since I didn't want to wake up at 4am and be all wrinkled for the day :)
The invitations, place cards and table numbers were designed at the last minute by Richard du Little Anthology. They were therefore transformed into a menu/invitation, a small book to keep as a souvenir placed on the plate. I printed them with my classic printer and cut them out myself. Fortunately, Richard also understood my expectations well and was very available.
Without looking, telling myself that it was not the priority, I had thought of small gifts for the guests. And a week before the D-Day, I discovered the Tookies by Jennifer – “ Tookies Gambetta » which perfectly matched what I wanted. The very short deadline did not leave time to create a customization and then finally it was not so bad I think ;)

D-day
I had my hair done the day before for practical reasons and to have a messy braid. We met in the morning in a cottage that we had rented to spend the weekend with cousins.
The morning was very fast because 3 hours is really short to take care of yourself, pick up the photographer, drive for an hour and prepare your kids who had a temperature of 39.5 the day before. Yes, we hadn't thought about that when we chose winter... My mom helped me put on the dress and then, we discovered ourselves under the photographer's eye outside because luckily we had the sun with us.
The wedding budget
"less than 10 euros"

Their best memory
"The presence of our children in front of the mayor, saying yes with them, my 3-year-old son was hovering in the town hall, speechless, as impressed as he was charmed. It was very touching..."
What if I had to do it again?
“We would do the same thing again with more precise timing in order to take the time for photos in the woods and have more shots with our kids.”

Anne-Claire's advice
« Make a wedding in your own image and to his desires of the moment, not to force himself to anything. The main thing for me is that marriage does not become too restrictive but it is completely personal. Everyone places the cursor where he wants, the main thing is that it suits us.
