Summer wedding in the Landes region at the Coco Barn
Sun-drenched elegance and an enchanting interlude at Coco Barn
There are stories that are born in the simplicity of a suspended moment, and traverse the years with a luminous clarity. The story of Alix and Gabriel begins around a campfire, in the gentle and wild atmosphere of the Bay of Somme. Thirteen years later, it is in the heart of the Landes forest, in the secluded natural setting of Coco Barn, that they chose to celebrate their union — a celebration conceived as an experience, at once intimate, vibrant and profoundly elegant.
Over three days, between the town hall of Ustaritz and the sun-drenched landscapes of the Landes region, their wedding unfolded like a poignant story, punctuated by carefully chosen details and raw emotion. A secular ceremony by the water, moments suspended among horses and pine trees, delicate floral arrangements, and that gentle summer feeling so characteristic of late July… Everything here exudes a masterful aesthetic, without ever losing sight of what truly matters: sharing, family, and love.
A report that reflects their duo — sincere, sunny and intensely alive.
The initial meeting
We met 13 years ago, during a weekend with friends in the Marquenterre (Bay of Somme). It was a campsite in the woods, a campfire atmosphere and good vibes. We swapped jars of mustard around the barbecue… and it all started!
The marriage proposal
The marriage proposal took place at Koh Phi PhiOn the beach, at sunrise. Rose petals, the sea, a perfect moment. Simple and magical.
The wedding venue in the Landes region
The Coco Barn It was obvious from the very first visit. The setting is simply magnificent. Surrounded by nature, this place is imbued with warmth, light, and emotion.
Getting ready in the cabin, saying "I do" at the secular ceremony by the stream, the cocktail hour by the pool with the horses grazing nearby, dinner in the wood house, the evening reception in the barn. Every place is magical. Our guests were captivated by the venue.
Alix: With a family from the Landes region, it was obvious to me that I should get married in a forest in the Landes.
Corenthine and Antoine are wonderful hosts and do everything to make our moment magical.
Wedding planning
The organization took a year and a half. Our wedding planner, Marta from Ciel Events, was extraordinary. Everything was thought out down to the smallest detail.
We chose to we'll get married over 3 days to make the most of our time with loved ones.
- Tuesday Our civil wedding took place at the town hall in Ustaritz, a typical Basque town where we live. We then had drinks on the beach at Les Planches Éphémères in Capbreton.
- Wednesday, The secular ceremony took place at the Coco Barn.
- Thursday We also had brunch at Coco Barn.
We were fortunate to be surrounded by exceptional service providers.
Wedding decoration
We wanted an elegant yet simple atmosphere. Lots of flowers and candles on the tables to enhance the wood house.
The choice of outfits
The bride's outfit
Alice: I've always dreamed of getting married in a dress Laure of Sagazan.
Laure was in the same high school as me. I always found her creations magnificent. I naturally turned to her designs for both the civil ceremony and the secular ceremony.
The groom's outfit
Gabriel: I wanted to try and add my own touch to the wedding. I must admit, it's often Alix who advises me on everything related to clothing.
I was quite nervous at first!
First, the fabric: I found linen pleasant, pretty, and eco-friendly. Then I needed to find someone to help me with the style and cut. Challenge accepted thanks to Fabrice from... Serrada in Biarritz who was a great companion. I looked amazing in that tailor-made suit! (less so than Alix, obviously)
The most moving memory
We have so many moving memories, but if we had to choose just one: the secular ceremonyWe wanted a sincere moment that reflected who we are.
Alix : my entrance with my father to ACDC, a symbolic song for both of us.
The speeches from our friends, relatives, and especially our sons. Our exchange of vows, our youngest bringing us the wedding rings.
It was a very emotional moment.
Gabriel Alix was GORGEOUS!
I cried so much during the wedding that I can't even remember which scene was the most moving. But I agree with Alix, that moment when you find yourself in front of all the people you love is incredible. It's a collective experience; everyone present at that moment is forever etched in my memory. The speeches, the faces, the smiles—all the sensory sensations come flooding back every time I think about that magical moment. A special thought for my bridesmaids and the officiant.
There was also a Paquito to carry our 3 children, a small tribute to Basque traditions.
Their best choice in wedding planning
Without hesitation, Marta, our wedding planner. She's a ray of sunshine. Thanks to her, this day was even more beautiful than we had imagined. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made all the difference.
We had the pleasure of having Patricia, our photographer, for two days at our wedding. The photos are incredible. Patricia took the time to get to know us before the big day. She is warm and patient. She made us feel completely at ease. The photos were delivered very quickly. Thank you for capturing this moment.
We opted for a cocktail reception and a casual dinner with Ramuntcho DaxWe had a wonderful time; everything was perfect. The meal was delicious. The service was top-notch; there wasn't even a moment when our glass was empty. We received countless positive comments from our guests who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We entrusted Julie with the flowers. Each floral arrangement was magnificent, fresh, and exquisitely delicate. She understood exactly what we wanted and even exceeded our expectations. Professional, attentive, and passionate, Julie truly helped make this day unforgettable. My bouquet was radiant.
Arnaud, our DJ, created an amazing atmosphere. He understood our tastes and gave us great advice. The dance floor was always packed.
Alex did my hair and that of my witnesses. The hairstyles were magnificent. Alex made us feel like princesses. The hairstyle held up very well.
Pauline was a fantastic makeup artist. She really listened to my needs. The makeup looked natural and lasted all day and evening, even with all the emotions…
We appealed to Spot Palace for our wedding brunch and what a treat! Everything was absolutely perfect: fresh produce, a generous buffet, a magnificent presentation and incredible taste.
