Elegant wedding in the North at the Château d'Avelin
Timeless elegance in the heart of the North
It is in the heart of the verdant plains of Northern France, in the majestic setting of Avelin Castlethat a wedding inspiration imbued with refinement and poetry. Under the soft light of a northern summer, Mathilde de Rose Events et Marine Webre have imagined a elegant garden party where every detail tells a French love story — a celebration that is authentic, modern and deeply romantic.
From their meeting on Instagram As this joint project came to fruition, their collaboration became an obvious choice: a fusion of creativity, audacity, and artistic sensibility. The result? A editorial shooting which transcends the codes of classic weddings to offer a cinematic and inspiring vision, where nature, stone and elegance unite in perfect harmony.
Le Avelin CastleWith its timeless architecture and exceptional gardens, it proved to be much more than just a backdrop: a character in its own right. Every space—from the sun-drenched park to the refined reception rooms—allowed us to imagine a wedding where The charm of yesteryear meets the modernity of todayoffering an experience that is both aesthetic and emotional.
This photoshoot, orchestrated by a team of talented and passionate vendors, embodies a vision of French weddings focused on delicacy, creativity, and sincerityAn ode to love, sharing, and the beauty of suspended moments.

What is the genesis of this wedding inspiration?
Mathilde and Marine: We discovered and connected through Instagram. Naturally, the desire to work on a joint project quickly arose. Mathilde was very quick and efficient in creating the mood board; her creativity and energy allowed us to organize the shoot very quickly. She searched for and found fantastic vendors eager to join the adventure, and we all immediately embraced the project. We settled on the garden party theme, as a shoot in the middle of July was the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors (and it's a time when the sun is also shining, even in the North).
Avelin Castle in Northern France
Le Avelin Castle It was an obvious choice for this project. Its elegant and timeless architecture, blending tradition and modernity, perfectly matched the aesthetic we wanted to convey: a marriage between classical romanticism and contemporary sophistication.
The castle's spaces, both interior and exterior, offer a naturally captivating cinematic setting that enhances each scene, bringing an artistic and editorial dimension to our shoot.
We also wanted to show that a place steeped in history, such as the Château d'Avelin, could be revisited in a modern and bold interpretation, while still retaining its soul. This aligns with our vision of weddings today: bespoke celebrations, blending creativity and elegance in unique settings.
We fell in love with this castle, adding to that the warm welcome we received with a guided tour and during our discussion about the history of this place.

The artistic direction
When creating our inspiration board, several great ideas instantly emerged from the pile.
The Château d'Avelin perfectly reflects the elegance and beauty of France, qualities that appeal to our target audience: future brides and grooms, aged 35, English or American, deeply in love with French culture.
Our vision for this shoot was clear: to invite these couples to envision their own wedding scenario, where they become the main characters in a setting that is both authentic and modern. The cinematic style we chose plays on emotions and highlights a sophisticated and dreamy atmosphere, reminiscent of classic romantic films.
For the design, we drew inspiration from leading American wedding blogs, particularly in the table details. The flowing, delicate draping symbolizes natural elegance, while the S-shaped layout, created with carefully arranged round tables, brings a unique dynamism and a sense of movement. This approach reflects our desire to create an immersive visual experience that surprises and inspires.
The Château d'Avelin is therefore more than just a place: it is a perfect canvas for telling a timeless love story.

Professional advice for future brides and grooms
As a wedding planner, two essential elements deserve your attention when preparing for this very special day:
1. Establish and adhere to a budget:
Before diving into the details, it's crucial to define a precise budget. This will allow you to better assess costs and avoid overruns. This step may seem tedious, but it's the key to a smooth and realistic planning process.
2. Maintain a critical distance from online inspirations:
While Pinterest and Instagram are fantastic sources of inspiration, it's important to take a step back. These platforms are full of beautiful images, but many of them come from styled shoots, not actual weddings. Furthermore, they can sometimes disconnect us from the reality of market costs.
For a more concrete and effective approach, I advise you to define priorities and create specific mini mood boards for each aspect of your decor. For example:
- A mood board for the wedding cake
- A mood board for your flowers
- A mood board for signage.
Limit each mood board to a maximum of 4 to 6 images to maintain a clear and consistent vision. This will help you better communicate your desires to your suppliers, while ensuring your project remains true to your expectations and budget.
In summary, stay realistic, organize your ideas in a structured way, and surround yourself with the right professionals to bring this dream day to life.
