Wedding in Normandy
in Honfleur
On the hills above Honfleur, the elegance of a love that began in college
Some stories seem to have been written long before we could imagine their significance. Tess and Ruben's story begins on the school benches, takes shape in high school, crosses the Atlantic and four years of study in Canada, before returning to Paris, where it all began.
When Ruben proposed in Bora Bora, facing the vastness of the Pacific, a new chapter began. For their wedding, the two Parisians chose to imagine everything themselves and found in Normandy The setting for this deeply personal celebration. On the heights of Honfleur, between soft light, open landscapes and natural elegance, their day takes the form of a suspended parenthesis, carried by emotions as intense as they are sincere.
Sublime in a creation Edith BrehatTess embodies a bride who is modern, delicate, and resolutely free. Through the sensitive images of Nika Gunchak et Vovka Kozubskyi, She shares with us the memories of a youthful love that became a promise for life.
The initial meeting
We met in middle school and our story began in high school, me in 1th grade and him in 4th grade. We were in class together in XNUMXth grade and then we started our story a few years later.
After high school, we went to Canada to do our higher education. We moved in together after 2 years and we never left each other again. It was only after 4 years in Montreal, which marked the end of our studies, that we decided to come back to live in Paris.
The marriage proposal
The marriage proposal took place in Bora Bora. It was during a family trip where we escaped for a few days, to enjoy this paradise a little more, that Ruben proposed to me.
We arrived in Papeete and immediately took a flight to Bora Bora, where we stayed for 10 days. He couldn't wait another day and asked me the same evening we arrived, in a hotel room on stilts with an infinite view of the Pacific... little anecdote: A shark was under our bungalow at the time of the request.
Wedding in Normandy in Honfleur
In Normandy in Honfleur. It is a family place where we go a lot and the place was perfect for it. At the beginning of our preparations, I had the South of France in mind but after thinking about it, Normandy… it’s magnificent and it’s super practical for everyone!
Wedding planning
The wedding took place in Normandy in the heights of Honfleur. For reasons of budget and atmosphere, we chose to organize everything ourselves. It was tedious but we had the wedding we always dreamed of!!
We started planning the wedding 1 year ago. We met with many service providers and we made strategic choices so that the atmosphere took precedence over everything else.
Wedding decoration
The atmosphere was inspired by the 70'sThe color palette had to blend into the Norman decor so I chose to stick with classic tones, green, brown, orange, beige, mixed with glass and metal (silverware).
The bride's outfit
I knew for a long time what I wanted to wear! My brief was simple: Elegant and Sexy! I wanted a confident dress, almost provocative while remaining very refined.
Edith allowed me to go even further than I had imagined, and I was so spoiled because she made me THE perfect dress! Which allowed me to keep it all evening and dance until the end of the night!!
Their most moving memory
The ceremony!! It was very touching to see all these people gathered around us to accompany us in the wedding. And obviously seeing the emotion in Ruben's eyes when he sees me, was very moving!
Their best choice in wedding planning
For not having taken a Wedding planner! I had the best coordinator with me, who made this wedding exceptional and fluid (I am very hard with delays haha, I wanted everything to be perfectly timed. The bet was kept)!
Their musical playlist in 5 references
Disco, funk, groove, and old pop to get everyone dancing!
- Disenchanted, Mylène Farmer
- I'm so excited, Pointer Sisters
- Sing Hallelujah, Dr. Alban
- Freed from Desire, Gala
- I'll go where you go, Celine Dion
Advice from the newlyweds
ENJOY, it goes by very quickly! Don't worry too much about organizing the wedding because everything will never go as planned, and above all surtout stay united to face difficulties together!
