To start this week, let's head to the Ile de Ré! He grew up there, she spent all her holidays there. Elodie and Olivier met the summer they were 15. From their holiday love was born a beautiful story. Getting married on their island was obvious. A day bathed in sunshine, love and sharing.

"Getting married on the Île de Ré has always been an obvious choice for us. Very attached to this island, Olivier grew up there and I have spent all my holidays there since always. It is also where our story began. We had spotted the Fort de la Prée for several years, a magical place with an incredible view of the sea."

Wedding preparations on the island of Ré
Our wedding took place in two stages.
In July 2014 The civil wedding took place on the island of Ré in my parents' holiday home. A small wedding with home-made decorations.
Then a year later in June 2015 the religious wedding, in the meantime we had flown off to a new life in New York. Organizing a wedding more than 5000 km away was a bit stressful. So we called on an agency specializing in weddings on the Ile de Ré, MG events, which more than lived up to our expectations. Mélanie took care of finding the service providers in line with what we wanted, installing and coordinating everything on the big day. I was overflowing with ideas and we wanted a wedding that really suited us!

"For the decoration, I spent hours on Pinterest and blogs. I loved browsing the etsy.fr site for hours in the evening... The goal was to make as many things as possible ourselves and we were able to count on the invaluable help of our witnesses who spent hours folding, cutting...
Flowers took an important place in the decoration, we called on Louis Dubois, an incredible florist who understood exactly what we wanted.
Another important post, the photos. I knew for a long time that we would call on Peggy from Fabrik Productions. His work is incredible and what a joy to have him by your side throughout the day! At the same time, I asked my father to make us a photo booth for the evening's entertainment, the guests were delighted. »

The Wedding Day
“Thanks to our wedding planner, in whom we had complete confidence, I was able to be pampered by my witnesses all morning and only think about myself!
The religious ceremony took place in the late afternoon, a wonderful memory both moving and very joyful. Then, the cocktail at the fort on the point facing the sea with a gypsy jazz band, then dinner and the evening in the courtyard under a transparent tent and under the stars.
The surprises from our witnesses and families continued throughout the evening, so much happiness and emotion...in short, the most beautiful day of our lives!!

Married Couple's Advice
- Make dinner the night before with family and close friends and organize a Sunday brunch to prolong the pleasure and make the most of the guests
- To delegate as much as possible on D-Day, it's essential to enjoy D-Day
- Have a great photographer for memories!
