Wedding at the Château de Montplaisant – Marion + Matthieu
CONTENTS
At school they exchange their first kiss. 10 years later, Marion and Matthieu say yes. A refined wedding with rustic notes. A pretty castle not far from Lyon, elegance, vegetation and XXL love.
With the beautiful images of The Pair of Cherries, they tell us…
The initial meeting
“We have known each other for the college. With the same group of friends, who have now become our wedding witnesses. Our first kiss was during the year of the baccalaureate in 2009 during a rock concert evening, on the barge La Marquise in Lyon. Since that day, we have never left each other.

The marriage proposal
Marion : "During a Road Trip in Scotland, at the port of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. I couldn't have dreamed of anything better, Matthieu knows us so well. We spent a week on cloud nine, we were going to get married for our 10th anniversary and this magnificent road trip in Scotland allowed us to immortalize this moment forever.

A wedding in Lyon
“The location was obviously one of the most important choices for our wedding. It was the starting point for our organization. We wanted a place that reflected us, where we would feel at home for a weekend… We only visited one estate and it was love at first sight: Montplaisant Castle in Montagnat in Ain.
We were able to use the castle from Thursday morning until Monday evening. There were enough beds to accommodate all our loved ones. There is a family spirit in this castle, and that was what we were looking for. Thanks to this place, we were able to fully enjoy our wedding.
The reception room, the orangery...was love at first sight. These magnificent white windows, the framework, the floor tiles...we were charmed and it perfectly matched our tastes and expectations.
The cherry on the cake was the large avenue of chestnut trees leading to the castle…”

Wedding planning
« A year of preparations…It’s short and intense, especially when you live in Paris and want to get married in Lyon. We already had a clear idea of the wedding we wanted.
At first, it was total excitement…there were a lot of things to do. The priority was to find the place which also determined the date of your wedding. Then the photographer, videographer, caterer, DJ, florist, makeup artist, hairdresser. Once that was done, we still had the details and in the end that's what took the most time. But we were very surrounded and helped in the preparations. It was a real pleasure, punctuated despite everything by headaches, we're not going to hide it, aha, but a real pleasure all the same!
Anyway, when we saw the end of this year of preparations, we were very happy. In the early morning, the day after our wedding and before going to bed, we told ourselves that we had put some sparkle in our life. The time of an unforgettable weekend, that of our wedding. Absolutely nothing needs to be redone, it was perfect.

Wedding decoration
“We both work in artistic fields. After my studies in art history, I became a professional in the art market. Matthieu is a landscape engineer. Talking about decoration necessarily means talking about the environment in which we work.
The decoration greatly contributed to the harmony we wanted to give to our wedding. After reading a few blogs, we had a clear idea of what we wanted: a decoration in our image.
The focus of our decoration was on our reception room…The place was so magical.”

The wedding budget
"Honestly, it was hard not to crack. We wanted to please ourselves but also our loved ones. We took our initial budget and classified the budget items according to our priorities... We blew our initial budget but without regret because our wedding lived up to our expectations. We couldn't have dreamed of better!"

Their best memory
Marion : "Such a difficult question! We have so many. In any case, there is the declaration of love that Matthieu made to me among my favorites. Time stopped for a few minutes, and it was just him and me."
Matthew : “Too hard to choose. All these moments make this day your best memory”
