Imported from the USA, the photobooth is a jubilant concept that will leave an inexhaustible memory for all your guests. A small animation that is simple to set up and accessible to all budgets.
Many of you are probably familiar with the principle: a set, a few accessories and a camera. The result: fun photos of all your guests. A great way to divert group photos and leave you with memories of all your guests.
Of course, there are the essentials with close family and witnesses. And the others? Yes, yes… the 100 to 200 guests who would also like to have their portrait taken with you!
Believe me, as a bride, the adventure can be perilous. And I don't question your pleasure in posing, because you will be in a satellite state of happiness anyway. But that of gathering all your loved ones in turn in a limited time can become a real ordeal. For my part, I didn't see anything of the cocktail and it lasted almost 3 hours!!!
With the installation of a photobooth space, you will gain peace of mind. You will ensure that all of your guests will be photographed with pep and humor. Great memories that can, for example, be found in a personalized way on your thank you cards...
On the implementation side, some advice…
A decor
For those who are not very handy and who do not want to spend a budget on this installation, you just need to mark out a small corner inside or outside your reception venue that you will point out to your guests.
A “photo booth” sign, an armchair, a stylish picture frame and that’s it! Outdoors, simply tie a rope to two trees, place a sheet with pretty patterns on it, two clothes pegs: the decor is set! And if you don’t have all that, you can always opt for a white wall and a pretty light or no decor at all: it’s up to the accessories to make the difference.
As for the manual brides-to-be or with a little more budget, you can embark on the creation of a more accomplished decor. Call on Jules! He will be delighted to create this atypical backdrop and thus contribute to the staging of the wedding.
For those with a very comfortable budget, it is possible to rent old Photomaton booths. Ideal for a vintage decor!
Accessories…
Hats, stylized picture frames, fake mustaches, crazy glasses, wigs… Let your inspiration run wild! It’s up to you to estimate where the limits of your photo booth are….
A camera…
Here again, the possibilities are multiple. First of all, check beforehand if your wedding photographer offers to take care of this service which is becoming more and more popular.
Otherwise, 3 options to choose from:
The first, and in my opinion the most comfortable, is to have a digital camera on a stand with a wired or wireless remote control. Your guests will then be able to take pictures of themselves. But this requires certain equipment because not all digital cameras are compatible with this type of remote control.
You can also opt for the self-timer, but be careful not to miss! In most cases, a self-timer but on average 5 seconds before triggering the shot. And this obviously requires systematic adjustment. You must then delegate a person to supervise the shoot, but you might as well ask them to take the photos :)
Second option: The Polaroid
As a die-hard fan, I love the vintage effect of the Polaroid. Not to mention the instantaneity! The photos are immediately available and can be directly integrated into the decor. On a pretty sign, in a photo souvenir album or hung using clothespins on a wishing tree for example. Guests can leave a little note behind their photo or on the album for the bride and groom.
The only downside: you must delegate someone to take care of the photo shoot or leave it to the guests to take turns taking photos of themselves. You also have to plan for the stock of film and therefore plan the budget…
And for those who are already wondering where to get a Polaroid, I share with you my big crush on the FUJIFILM Instax mini 7S. A little bomb! Personally, I have already ordered … ^^
Third and final option: The digital camera left at the disposal of your guests or delegated to a person of your choice.
The little extras…
For digital enthusiasts, if you have a small photo printer or if your means allow it, do not hesitate to use it. This will allow you to print your photos simultaneously and integrate them into your wedding decoration or on a beautiful photo album that your guests will customize.
