Wedding at Pyla sur mer – Mélanie + Grégory
CONTENTS
They meet at the wedding of their best friends and then meet again years later between two dance steps. From a Paris-New York, they decide to settle down together. And it is in Lapland that he asks her to marry him. The obviousness of getting married in Pyla sur mer imposed itself and on a beautiful September day, they said yes.
With the beautiful images of Julie Hardiagon, Mélanie tells us…
The initial meeting
“Our meeting was anything but ordinary and above all a bit awkward at first but very funny afterwards.
We met at the wedding of our two best friends in the Basque country, he was accompanied and I was newly single. During the traditional bouquet toss, I fought with his girlfriend at the time and finally won under the astonished gaze of the audience in this battle worthy of Mexican wrestling.
Two years later, we met again at the same friends' house for New Year's Eve in La Clusaz, he single and I gradually won over by his swaying dance steps. Midnight struck, he kissed me and we haven't been apart since.

The marriage proposal
"After 6 months of long distance Paris-NYC I join him in Panama, and at another New Year's Eve this time in a jacuzzi under the snow in the middle of the forest in Lapland, he asks me to marry him, shivering on his knees in the snow."
A wedding in Pyla sur mer
“My parents have a house in Pyla sur mer, we love coming here and it was obvious to us that we would get married here.”

Wedding decoration
« My husband's grandmother sewed all the wedding details, bow ties, aprons for the children of honor, mass booklets, personalized honey pots, etc. a real artist!”
Their best memory
“This day will be etched forever: laughs with our witnesses to the preparations before the ceremony, the indescribable emotion ofarrive in the arms of our respective parents, the surprise orchestrated by my brother at the exit with live music on the forecourt of the church, the couple photoshoot on the Pyla dune with our great photographer, the cannelé wedding cake and many other things that made this day the most beautiful day of our lives. Our wedding was beyond our expectations, a day without end of emotions: from laughter (seeing our guests dressed as seahorses and eggplants wiggling on the dance floor) to tears when discovering each other in the church.
The day went like a dream, idyllic weather (which was not a given in the South West!!) and above all our friends and families who came from the 4 corners of the world to celebrate this very symbolic day with us. We had been warned that it was essential to ENJOY every moment and it's so true, it goes by so quickly!

Advice from the newlyweds
"Don't hesitate to personalize this day as much as possible, so that every detail resembles you, so that this unforgettable day is in your image. But above all: ENJOY, look at each other during the ceremony, realizing this magical event, it's only once in your life!"
