When photographer Aurore Poupon came to discover the Château de Courcelles Le Roy, the connection with Diane was immediate and a spark of friendship and creativity. They instantly shared the same vision: to create a photoshoot that celebrates authenticity rather than perfection.

The initiative stemmed from their shared desire to show that a place can be magnificent without being perfect, that beauty sometimes lies in embraced imperfection. The castle, with its romantic ruins where trees have taken root, offered the ideal setting to convey this message to modern couples seeking authenticity.

Their instant friendship and shared vision transformed this idea into an artistic project that goes far beyond a simple inspirational photoshoot.

The Château de Courcelles Le Roy defies all conventions, and that is precisely what captivated us. Formerly the residence of Marshal Étienne MacDonald, Duke of Taranto under Napoleon, this historic estate has chosen a unique approach to heritage preservation.

The central castle stands in a deliberately preserved state of romantic ruin: centuries-old trees have made its halls their natural habitat, windows open onto the infinite, and the roof is patinated by time. This building becomes a poetic witness to the passage of time.

Around this historic castle, four houses have been meticulously restored to host the celebrations. This magical coexistence of authentic ruin and refined functionality creates an atmosphere unlike any other in the world.

We chose this venue because it perfectly embodies our philosophy: true beauty lies in authenticity, even when imperfect. It's a place for couples who value emotion over spectacle, sincerity over Instagram-worthy perfection.
