Romantic Wedding in Thailand – Megan + Timmy

On the lush island of Koh Samui in Thailand, Megan and Timmy wanted to unite their lives. A seaside wedding in the privacy of 40 guests. A dream atmosphere at the end of the world.

The initial meeting

"Timmy and I met at our workplace at the American School in Japan. We were both hired as teachers and started out as good friends, always having dinner and going out on weekends together. 6 months later we started dating and the story begins there."

The marriage proposal

“The proposal was just like us, very low-key. Timmy hinted at it all day with his sweet words and tender gestures throughout the day. He popped the question that night when we got back to the apartment with champagne and we shared the news with our family in the States over FaceTime.”

Marriage in Thailand

"Timmy and I have been going to Thailand regularly every year for the past 5 years, which is why we chose the country for our wedding. Our first trip there was as chaperones on a school trip to Chiang Mai, and we have continued to go there for holidays and have always felt it was the perfect place to unwind after a busy school year. Koh Samui has a special charm for us and we wanted our wedding guests to experience it."

Wedding planning in Thailand

"Planning the wedding was stressful at times, but our team of Wedding Planners, The Wedding Bliss, were absolutely amazing. We made a lot of big decisions, but many times I asked them to choose for us and they did an incredible job of keeping our wedding simple, modern and beautiful.

They also made planning easy from afar. They were absolutely amazing!”

Wedding decoration

"The Wedding Bliss did a lot of work with the wedding decor to make it modern for our wedding. My request was to keep things simple and natural, and they executed it very well. One of my hesitations was the expensive ceremony arch. They explained how beautiful it would be for all the photos and looking back, I couldn't agree more. The beautiful arch was THE piece of decor at our wedding that we will never forget."
