More than an engagement session, Priscillia and Jean-Jacques take us on an Icelandic road trip that is simply incredible! Destined for each other by their respective parents, these two lovers will get married in September. In love with Iceland, it was aboard a zodiac, at the foot of the Vatnajökull glacier, that Jean-Jacques made the most beautiful declaration to his sweetheart. A year later, they naturally wanted to return to these breathtaking landscapes to immortalize their love.
Accompanied by the fabulous duo of Benjamin Le Du Photography, Priscillia tells us more…
The initial meeting
"Christmas 2009, I returned to France (I was living in the USA where I was studying) to have an interview at Hermès. I was then hired by the father of my future husband without knowing it.
Several months went by during which our respective families decided that we would go very well together (we did not know each other at that time, our fathers had been business partners for about fifteen years).
After many jokes, lame allusions and attempts to bring us closer #arrangedmarriage, we finally meet.
It was in August 2010 that I passed by the shop where JJ worked, next to the Champs Elysées, and decided to go in with one of my best friends. On the way out, I said to him: " If I marry this guy, you're a witness ”.. 5 years later… Here we are!
In our town hall file, in order to describe our meeting, the words are written: “ Our parents wanted it, Hermes did it » #dreamsellers »

The marriage proposal
"During our second trip to Iceland, in 2014, on board a boat on the Jökulsárlón Iceberg Lagoon.
JJ put one knee in the zodiac when we arrived at the bottom of the lagoon, at the foot of the Vatnajökull glacier. I had told him the year before, during our first trip to Iceland, that this place was the most beautiful in the world in my eyes J I don't remember my answer but it must have been YES :)! »

Preparations for this photoshoot in Iceland
6 month of preparation for this couple session in Iceland:
- Even before returning to France after the request, a fiery idea: to go back to Iceland for a 3th times with a photographer to immortalize these memories. JJ answers me directly: "it's nonsense, OK!!"
- First Step: Find the Best Photographer Ever crazy enough to follow us in this adventure. We found the rare pearl, and there were even 2 of them. In August we announced to Benjamin and Muriel that it would be them!
- On August 25th, my birthday, I bought tickets for Iceland: it will be 1 week of pure happiness in March 2015, the best time to hunt the Northern Lights.
- From August 2014 to March 2015 I prepared all the trips, places to see, hostel reservations, car rentals, tour reservations (ice cave excursion, hunting for the northern lights, etc.). And the surprise for the end... just to enjoy together after the big week that awaited us (emotion/image/panorama/in short... the thrill)... VIP entrances to the Blue Lagoon. One of our biggest laughs... it was just great to live these moments with them...
- During this period we had our dresses/suits/flower crowns/bouquets/etc. made in order to be ready for this crazy week. Our friends and families don't know yet that we organized all this in secret. The photos are a surprise during the wedding J
- We were already equipped to endure these extreme conditions from our previous trips... but doing the sessions in dresses and suits... it was psychologically that we had to prepare ourselves above all J (felt between 0 and -10°C)

The couple session in Iceland
- Cold! More seriously, we have suffered much worse conditions during our previous trips (we ended up in a ravine with our 4X4 during our first trip) so we considered ourselves lucky for the spectacle that Iceland offered us for this "grand finale". We had the Northern Lights for the first time, a near-total solar eclipse (March 20). We had ideal conditions for the Dark and Light atmospheres, adapted to the landscape and the spirit that Benjamin and Muriel wanted to convey through their photos.
- We were literally saved by Muriel who took care of us like a real mother. Without her I would have most certainly died of cold on an iceberg :D She did my makeup every day and helped me with my hair and changing. She was simply amazing..
- It was a real pleasure to live this experience with Benjamin and Muriel, we lived unforgettable moments together (4X4 stuck in the snow the first evening: Muriel and I under the 4X4 breaking the ice that formed and blocked the car while JJ and Benjamin broke stones so that the 4X4 would grip and stop skidding in the snow... memorable..). I can't even count the laughs we had and the number of times we screamed/ran/jumped/exploded with JJ because we were so cold!!! But the result was definitely worth it and we were well surrounded.
- Benjamin and Muriel very quickly had the idea of creating two themes: Light Iceland and Dark Iceland. The country lent itself completely to it and it was a pure pleasure to see their eyes marvel as our road trip progressed and to project themselves into each of these atmospheres, radically different and at the same time equally striking.

Wedding inspirations
"The theme of the wedding is none other than " Ice Lagoon Wedding ".. for the inspirations I think it would be difficult to do more marked.. Icelandic, Nordic, etc.
As for the wedding, I'll leave the surprises for later, we're still in the preparations, it will be the same chalet/Nordic/iceberg/lagoon spirit. See you in September."

No, but it's way too beautiful! These photos, these newlyweds, this country... This country! I spent a week there in June and I only want one thing: to go back!

Sometimes it takes very little to describe beauty; on this report I want to say "It's simply MAG-NI-FIQUE".
I'm jealous! I wish I had the means and ideas for an engagement session like that. I can't wait to see their wedding report in September.

Now I am speechless….
Certainly one of the most beautiful countries in my eyes, last summer's trip that made my eyes sparkle for 15 days... And now these photos, once again the most faithful and the most magnificent in my eyes. I find all the ambivalence of the country, the softness of the light, the roughness of the landscapes... I am truly speechless and very moved, without knowing these future bride and groom! So when the family will discover the result...!!!!
I wish you a wonderful wedding, the inspirations give time and promise a sublime atmosphere…
Well done to this great team and to the photographers…
