2 days before Christmas, magic takes hold of our tormented hearts. 2020 will have turned our lives upside down, swept away our certainties. The world of marriage will not have been spared. Behind our apparent optimism, we had to adapt to the situation, focus on tomorrow without knowing what it will be made of. Everyone has faced it according to their personality. Here we have chosen to relight the stars, to focus on the hope of a different but beautiful world.
Before getting lost in the Christmas festivities, wedding professionals have awakened their creativity to offer us an Advent calendar that is more inspiring than ever. On the initiative of Jolibazaar, Peony moments and Jeremie Sésanne, the christmas challenge brought together more than 200 wedding service providers. Each box of the calendar offered us on the Instagram account of @jolibazaar an original interpretation of Christmas around an inspiring table. Victim of its success, the calendar presented not 24 but 45 inspiring Christmas tables. This surge of creativity, sharing and solidarity shows us once again how much the wedding family shines.
To honor this movement of the heart, I have selected for you (not without difficulty) about 10 favorite tables. And I invite you to discover the 45 Christmas tables on @jolibazaar. The last one will be revealed tomorrow.
Sonya from Jolibazaar tell us more…
“The Christmas challenge was born from discussions between the decoration rental company JoliBazaar and two other wedding planner friends, Aurélie de Peony moments et Jeremie Sesanne. As Christmas approached, we wanted to symbolically come together around a common project and encourage our Instagram followers to create beautiful festive tables despite the lockdown.
This is how we came up with the idea of creating an Advent calendar around the Christmas tables and we gave carte blanche to other service providers from the wedding world to show their personality and share their origins or family traditions through their tables.
In the end, this calendar was a considerable success: 45 superb tables instead of the 24 initially planned and more than 200 service providers embarked on the adventure (in compliance with current health measures!).
The calendar reflects the richness and diversity of our professions while offering plenty of varied inspiration for the holidays. It's a very nice surprise and we are happy to be at the origin of this wave of creativity around Christmas which remains a magical time even in this very special year!
Christmas in Luberon
Rhiann from Lucy Till French Weddings : “For several years, the idea of an abandoned Provençal country house, invaded by ivy and filled with candles, matured in the mind of Laetitia C. of Fleurs d'Atelier.
After a year that has heavily impacted the wedding industry, a team came together to create a Christmas editorial with a contemporary feel featuring a multitude of candles and twinkling lights, sprawling greenery, a crisp white sweet table and a gorgeous menu from top caterer Frederic Bernard that was highlighted by Crème de Papier's organically shaped stationery suite.

Christmas in Alsace
Cecile of Capucine floral workshop : “Christmas, a tradition in Alsace! I imagined a simple, warm, cocooning universe with materials such as wool and by associating it with garlands of light and lots of candles. The white, cream and beige shades. A desire to get together and share together.”

Geraldine of The Great Moments : “Natural and elegant materials. Modernity, some play on transparency, shine and a slight rock side.
A little bit of each of us, who made this editorial, and also, a little bit of the universe of the creator Rime Arodaky and Greg Finck, who welcomed us into their home and whose living room we occupied for 48 hours. A sincere thank you to them and to the children.
Because with this 2020 Christmas challenge you gave us the opportunity to dream and meet up, I had this irresistible desire to set a table for 14 people.

Laetitia of Floresia : “Here is our 2020 Christmas table, a luminous table designed like a Lilliputian garden, with its winter flowers, buttercups, hellebores, lady's slippers and poinsettias and its mini-fir trees in Anduze pottery.
The choice of tableware fell on old earthenware tableware, inspiring the place markers with its pretty garland decoration. Garland pattern that can also be found against the walls. Between the groves and flowerbeds of the center of the table, sweets, madeleines, stollen, Christmas stars, and meringues, lovingly made in miniature versions, just the right size for the little fingers of the smallest guests...

Emily of The blonde and the bearded man : “We immediately imagined pure and soft white, a touch of gold for the magic of Christmas and a chic and magical festive table. A journey in the time of a meal!
Jérôme and I then called Thomas who we imagined to be the perfect photographer to follow us! He was very motivated! Then little by little wonderful service providers were added to what was supposed to be a mini shoot, to end in a well-surrounded and fantastic day!

« Marie achieved the impossible by making her table for the challenge in 3 days!
She gathered a small team of service providers in Metz and created a design with what she had at home… The result is absolutely impressive and earned us many reactions in stories because she was the first to shoot and she immediately set the bar very high!«

Emilie from Bite the Apple : “Let's create magic!”
We wanted to create a warm atmosphere in a prestigious location in Old Lille.
An atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay for hours enjoying a good meal lit by candlelight with your loved ones.
We chose to work with beautiful materials, linen, cotton, stoneware, recycled paper with gold inclusions... while mixing sober shades.
The set is decorated with floral arrangements which mix ferns gleaned from the Raismes forest in our pretty region and exceptional flowers.
The chimney of fairy lights, the many candles, the wreath of fern and berries as well as the candy canes transport us into the Christmas spirit in a subtle way.

Claire of CMO Studio: "For the record, with Maison Nans, our friendship goes back well before our respective launches towards our passion: our profession, the one we undertake on a daily basis. It is therefore quite natural that we got together once again, surrounded by a team composed of fairies and a magician.
For this Christmas table, the idea was to create a crystalline universe, contrasted by scattered notes of red and a few symbols that recall and embody the magic of Christmas. A mix of genres between tradition with solid silver cutlery, crystal glassware, and modernity: ceramic, terracotta napkins, linen string tablecloth... »

Florian from A September nineteenth : “This table, imagined in just a few days, represents everything I love and everything that makes up the DNA of my brand. Colors that I like and that suit me: blush, white and a darker touch, almost black.
Christmas with my family, for me, is those long days around the table sharing a good meal. A little nod to my Italian roots, the traditional pandoro, and a well-filled table, with lots of sweets to nibble on. A mix of simplicity, textures, and strong contrasts. A mix of genres with a resolutely modern floral arrangement and more precious crystal, golden candlesticks and linen napkins made by my grandmother in her youth.

Coralie of Loli events : " We imagined a “confined Christmas” table, using everything we had available at home, with floral arrangements that could be made at home… with a little creativity!
Treats, little surprises and a pretty table, in a small group or with the whole family, Christmas Eve should be a special evening, warm and full of sharing.«

Elodie from Frederic Bernard Caterer : “We imagined a warm and welcoming Christmas table using only the treasures from Virginie’s showroom. Anemones and ranunculus are the stars of our table and grow in a floral greenhouse 100m from her home!
The chefs have imagined elegant dishes using exceptional local products with Mediterranean sea urchins and forgotten vegetables from our farmer. Our wish for this challenge is to bring a little magic and sweetness by mixing our creative minds!

Perrine of Miss Pink: “We had the plan to spend some time together, all 4 of us! The Christmas challenge brought us together faster than expected ;)
This table really represents our state of mind of the day, a graphic decoration, strong in character, a little rigid but solid and reassuring and at the same time full of love by the red color, the roundness of the flowers and the apples. The light, the shine of the fruits and the flames of the candles to bring this Christmas magic! To finish at the table and enjoy the superb raspberry chocolate cake!

Marie-Laure de Giacomelli Events: “I wanted a shooting with hints of red, because I’m Italian and in Italy red at Christmas is SUPER important, we wear it even on our underwear and socks.
Notes of red, of course, but also and above all something warm. Because with the cold of winter and this somewhat gloomy period, it was important to me to revive this spirit of family and celebration, with a stone country house atmosphere, a crackling fireplace and sweet scents emanating from the kitchen.
