The initial meeting

"We met during our physiotherapy studies. After a few months of flirting, it was during an integration weekend, during our second year, that we kissed for the first time: he dressed as a devil, she as a highlighter..."

The marriage proposal

"To propose, he decided to combine the 3 things she loves most: Christmas, his family and Harry Potter. So it was on the evening of December 24, surrounded by his family, that Matthieu offered a very special gift, hidden around a wizard's wand..."

A winter wedding in the mountains

"A winter wedding? It's out of the question to have it under the Parisian greyness. We dreamed of a simple wedding, facing the mountains that we love so much. While surfing the internet by chance, Matthieu fell under the spell of the Gite du Passant. The setting, facing the Aravis mountain range, the uniqueness, isolated 1km walk away, and the authenticity, a sumptuous solid wood gite, won us over."

Wedding planning

“Organizing a wedding remotely (we are Parisians) is not easy. Fortunately, we had a year ahead of us, time to visit the place twice: once under an impressive snowstorm, another in summer. We felt good there each time. The owners made things much easier for us: the catering service is offered with good regional dishes and the guests can sleep on site in a dormitory.”

Wedding decoration

"The place is self-sufficient and requires little decoration: despite everything, we brought a lot of candles and dried flowers. Very hands-on, we wanted to do most of the decorations ourselves (table plan, guest labels, photo decorations, etc."

The wedding budget

"With a day the day before for the town hall, we paid 24.000 euros, all inclusive."

Their best memory 

“For Matthieu: the secular ceremony, facing the mountain, in good humor and simplicity.
For Alexandra: the song that Matthieu wrote and sang for her, guitar in hand, during the evening.
For both of us: the blind test that our band offered us. All the guests were on fire!

Advice from the newlyweds

"You have to plan ahead, because there will always be lots of little things that will be added to the organization in the last few days, and you don't want to end up overloaded. Don't worry about details that the guests won't even notice: keep it simple, as you like, and that will make the event authentic."
