For this very first “ Come to my house", direction Bordeaux! Jessica, founder of the interior design agency BOH Decoration welcomes us to her home in her beautiful 150 m2 Haussmannian apartment, right in the heart of the city. This decoration and travel enthusiast shares with us her inspirations and her great addresses. A bright interior with ethnic and cozy notes. Thank you Jess for sharing yourself!

“Hello! I’m Jessica, I have an interior design and design agency – bohdeco – and I live in Bordeaux with my husband, my 18-month-old daughter Olympe and our cat Fourchette.

After almost 10 years in the South of France, we returned to Bordeaux during my pregnancy. I wanted to find my South-West and especially my family who still lives in the region. (Thank you Mamika for looking after Olympe so often by the way) When you are independent, it is rather difficult to reconcile family life and business and it was important for me to be well surrounded.

After a quick 3-day visit, we came across this gem of an apartment: 150 m2 duplex, right in the city center of Bordeaux, renovated with a touch of Haussmannian charm. The apartment is on the top floor of a beautiful building, and it is bathed in light. Bingo! A big stroke of luck for us. We moved in on the 1er April 2015 and our little girl arrived on the 1ster  September.

In terms of decoration, I have hardly touched the walls or the basic materials, because being a renter, I do not want to invest a lot – and that is why you will not see the bathrooms which are rather… original.

Our living room is large, and I worked on a sober, light and natural decoration. I wanted all our travel souvenirs to naturally find their place and so I opted for a slightly ethnic spirit while remaining elegant. I like to work with a natural palette with beautiful timeless pieces, even if it means making small changes over the seasons with new cushions, another more colorful rug, a pretty tablecloth... So we have the impression of having changed style but we have only replaced two cushions!

The furniture is a mix of new and second-hand pieces and from my favorite suppliers with whom I work a lot in my profession.

I particularly like my light fixtures, my sideboard, my leather acapulco, my juju hat and my very beautiful weaving from Leone House. It brings a lot of character to the room.

For our bedroom, I let loose with a magnificent panoramic view from Elitis. We got married in Greece with Vincent and I really wanted to fall asleep every night thinking about the blue of the Aegean Sea. I am really happy with this panoramic. Some people don't like it at all but I love it.

On the other hand, my room still needs to be improved to my taste! I'm missing a nice patterned armchair and I also need to finally hang up some photographs and various screen prints that are still in my closet...

At our little Olympe's I wanted to make a neutral room so that she could grow a little with her. Her room is very small <9m2 but very cute with its small window overlooking the rooftops of Bordeaux and with the view of the Statue of Liberty from the Place des Quinconces.

At the bottom of the bed, I put this sublime wallpaper from the Pierre Frey house. It is a historic wallpaper, which is still printed on a frame by hand, which gives it a magnificent depth of color. Moreover, when you put it up, this paper still smells of paint.

I chose a white furniture base, with an evolving bed from Sebra which is really superb and practical – I love it because the bars don't start at the bottom of the bed and so it's impossible to lose the pacifier! – a small wardrobe from La Redoute, a pretty chest of drawers/changing table bought at Little Factory and a Vitra rocking chair complete the furniture. With the wallpaper " Banana tree ", I naturally accessorized around the jungle universe with a rug and a tiger trophy. She loves it. Every night she says "graaou" to the tiger's head and gives it a kiss before going to bed. Small posters complete the set as well as a pretty weaving made by Virginie and a dream catcher handmade by my sister Mylène.

So I hope you enjoy my home sweet home, and thanks again to Clémentine for sharing these photos.

Oylmpe's room is just beautiful! Great idea of the jungle room which is indeed neutral enough for her to grow a little with.
Beautiful white furniture that reflects even more light.
A pattern reminder with curtains like the wallpaper could be great, but I imagine there are shutters hence their absence!
    In short..Great article!!

Looking forward to reading you !
